I do have faith in this board. It's just a little strange that very few seem to last more than a few years. I can accept losing players and managers to the so called big teams. But losing possibly the best manager in the clubs history to Everton has Me having a few doubts.

I said at the time the les reed video came out that it seems a bit weird putting out such a video if the contract talks were goig well.why put out that video?
Equally it seems a bit weird putting that video out if things aren't going well. Les would be running the risk of looking like a mug.

If Koeman goes it's more likely things were going okay until Everton backed a truck full of cash up to Koeman's front door.

Emery has won the Europa league 3 seasons in a row. As much as we think Koeman is class, Emery is a league above.

True but still don't think their is a top team looking for a manager. I would have thought the draw of 6 million a season and 100 million transfer kitty and a chance to manage I the best league in the world would be quite a draw for someone like Emery.

Look on the bright side. If Koeman does go Hodgson will be looking for a new job soon.

Don't think this is too unlikely a scenario:

Koeman has seen the deal proposed by Saints, doesn't want to sign
He says he wants to see his contract out (like he has said publicly) but will be off at the end of next season
Saints make it clear that they want long term commitment and if there is a manager who they want available then he replaces Koeman before his contract is up, as they aren't just going to sit around until his deal expires
Koeman then goes and has a look at what Everton have to offer

There are more than a few possibilities. The offer was presumably being negotiated by Koeman's new agent, with Koeman on vacation...while I have no doubt that Ron was kept in the loop, it's possible that the agent left an impression that Koeman himself would not have. Or, it's possible that Les got caught in the excitement and jumped the gun. Or, it was a PR move by the club to show they'd done everything they could before being undercut by Everton. Or, that wasn't Les in the video at all, but a replicant inserted in his place by that Dalian Wanda guy to undermine the board and pave the way for his takeover and/or world domination. Many possibilities!
