You'd be amazed to hear that they've got electricity and Internet here

Don't know these days but Singapore used to be the place to get your electronics from. Whole skyscraper stores dedicated to electronics of one description or another. You want Stereo or Quad Hi-Fi Amps.? The whole 3rd floor. Walkmans.? All of floor 10. That kind of thing. They also use 240v and UK plug wall sockets, so that made things a bit easier when it came to buying.

He signed for the club he was using as a bartering tool to get paid more, he's now locked into a very lucrative contract in a job he knows in his heart he doesn't want.
What could possibly go wrong. Financially nothing, but career, reputation and dreams are at massive risk.

Same thing that could have gone wrong if he remained here, really. He had a bad month and we were apparently pretty close to firing him; there's no such thing as a safe managerial position.

It was awful around Xmas, though we were still making chances...just not putting them away. I don't know whether Ron was responsible for the upturn ...he did make some tactical changes....or whether the players melded together...or both. We achieved our best position in the EPL and got into the league stage of the Europa. Our disappointment was being let down by Ron when we are facing a very interesting season. Everyone was so happy....Ron was happy...still inexplicable why he would leave at this point. It feels different from losing Poch though....I really thought we were in trouble then, but I know now that we will get a good manager and be fine because Saints are strong as a team. So it's a feeling of being let down rather than thinking we have lost the best manager since sliced bread. Now he's gone, we wouldn't be human if we didn't wish ill on him (though not particularly Everton....they would just be collateral damage), but it's onwards and upwards...starting with the new manager.

Bloody hell its just gone 10pm here, and jet lag is a bugger.....did you watch the Portugal game? I thought Iceland done themselves proud.

No, not on the channels in my room. I go to Malaysia tomorrow and will be there for the England v Wales game on Thursday. We have a bar lined up for that!

Iceland were very strong in qualification.

Now that is odd because I was aware that our board were supportive and he was more scared of the team getting into a really bad situation than the board, and no suggestion of getting the push.

Yes, he said that. And Les said something similar...we don't panic....though of course form was discussed. Don't think there was any intention of sacking him...that was just put about by the media.

Guan, IIRC, posted in January (when Koeman was called in front of the board for a meeting concerning the bad results and their disapproval of some of his methods) that he probably needed 4-6 points from the next two or he was getting the axe. DLTW posted it again a few days (so, 120 pages of this thread) back.

Enjoy watching the game on Thursday :emoticon-0148-yes: some of us will be stuck at work without even access to a radio <yikes>
Wonder how many times I will need to pop to the loo between 2-4 and check my phone

I was lazy TSS, read through to catch up and hadn't realised Tom had got in there. After I read his post, thought I'd also add the detail as to why <cheers>

Yeah, I saw your post afterwards. I still found your original post funny though. I liked the fact that you actually gave the precise odds to that oft asked question... what are the odds of that happening.?
