us, arsenal, city have tough away games after wcq
manure play at home against championship quality side..
who said red nose left?
perhaps, reason why Jose, Carlo et al rejected OT , not to live under shadow
(I still fancy you to win it tbh)I thought we put in a great team performance but it was Barry who was the difference between the 2 sides, he was superb & that block - was a match winner, as if Eto'o scores there, it's a different game.
You had a few great opportunities to score, but only forced Howard into 1 tough save (from Ramires). Schurrle looks gash to me, no idea what you saw in him like. Eto'o will score goals in this league once he's fully match sharp. Luiz at CB is ill disciplined at times imo.
Enjoyed the game, your support was great btw & good luck for the reast of the season(I still fancy you to win it tbh)
As you say ,same old same old, except Hazard and Mata are shadows of last year. Don't like the look of our "new "team at all. Too many midgets buzzing aimlessly with no direction from the midfield, and still no sign of a forward who can score. There is one, but he was sitting on the Everton bench.
Why oh why didn't we buy Ozil ???? He created more chances for his forwards in 10 mins than our entire midfield in a season.
Very evident we have no power in the team, no drive forward anymore, apart from Luiz and occasionally Ivan. Jose can't keep expecting Lampard to save the day, and Torres is simply atrocious against good defence. Very bad day at the office, and hard to find any positives from this sort of performance.
All the kudos to Everton, they were strong in defence and quick and direct in attack and showed us up as clueless when the oposition get stuck in.
At the end of the day we had OPEN chances to score and failed.
Jose has a style and we don't have the players for it. It will be a long season if he doesn't adapt. It is already clear Hazard has lost something because he now tracks back so much.
I love Mata but we are definitely better with oscar at 10.
We are so going to regret loaning Lukaku and keeping Ba.
I know Ivan is playing ok but I hope Azpi gets some chances.
On another board the question being asked is if today was more entertaining than watching Benitez team at the end of last season. Close, very close.
Not whilst we're only averaging one goal per game we won't.
I'm amazed that you let Lukaku join us tbh, I thought he'd be a massive player for you this season (not that I'm complaining)

I'm not amazed, Lukaku isn't good enough for a side wanting to win the title (yet!), still a raw talent who is a bit rough around the edges. Another season playing regular football is just what he needs. West Brom to Everton is a great move, better football and more pressure on him whilst playing regularly now. I am amazed that we didn't sign a top striker though.

Not for the want to trying though Drogs. We we're linked heavilly with Rooney, Cavani, Falcao and reported to have enquired about Lewandowski. For various reasons none came off; similar to United with their quest for a midfielder.
Lukaku loan was sensible as I couldn't see Jose starting him all the time. Just hope the others between them will be good enough to carry us through this year.
I think Willian will also be a brilliant for us when he gets a game!
Disagree. Cavani went to PSG. If we'd really pushed for him we'd have got him. There's no way RVP was worth £24m but Man U were prepared to pay the money and reaped the rewards. In this day and age top strikers are rare and we haven't got one. United, City both have and even Liverpool do.
Out striking options are now probably 5th/6th best in the league which isn't really good enough.
Bit harsh DL, if the golden boot winner of the last two seasons isn`t worth £24m what striker is or what would you expect for £24m?

£24m for an injury prone player nearly 30 in the final year of his contract?
I'm not doubting his ability, but it was way over the odds, but ultimately you had to pay you.
