One of our ex loan players Jason Denayer is having a good game at center back for Lyon, blocking everything so far. City do not look favourites on this showing, their first eleven may be good but the squad is poor imo.

When Moyes had Denayer on loan he was garbage for us and obviously didn't want to be here; he never put a foot wrong last night. In my opinion he was a candidate for man of the match

You what <laugh>

They had Aguero, Sane, Mahrez, Kompany and Otamendi on the bench.

They also had the other Silva, Gundoguan, Stoned, Fab Delph, and Jesus starting, if you are going to get anywhere in this competition you need better than these imo.

I thought he was OK, and better than a few others here at that time. Just my opinion of course.

Had his moments - I agree Denayer was OK at times - inconsistent but was only young. iirc played better as a DM than CB

He was playing alongside Van Dyke north of the border before he came here, must have been a culture shock pairing up with JoS and the Moyes boys in the premiership after that.

You suggesting Bernardo Silva, Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus are not quality players?

They’d walk into almost every side in Europe! Portugal, Germany and Brazilian first choice internationals.

I’m trying to work out if this is tongue in cheek, City’s back up 11 would likely finish top 6 in the Premier, maybe even higher.
