England have a 100% record in international finals too... (Anyone considering the Nation's League an international final can ****off!!)
Well, this team is has been setting firsts all over the place. Didn't we lose in the semis of the Nations League?
something like £1billion in debt, breaking FFP and Spanish rules, multiple debts becoming due or overdue, lots of ‘stars’ to move on but cannot due to their astronomical wage and average form….they are in very serious financial trouble. They are going to have to sell whatever assets they can to balance the books - I agree, he’d be down the list but those above him may not be sold easily!
Just beating our Teutonic cousins prompted an outright Jingofest - I shudder to think what it's like now. I'm avoiding it like the plague or Justin Bieber. I never watch telly news any more. You only get the very limited output that they choose to give you. I prefer to look online and choose the topics I want to follow rather than have it fed to me.
My advice is just join a street party when it happens. Get covid and get on with it. Enjoy the party like boris intends and then drop dead in the 100,000 that he think will get it a week.
England charged by UEFA over laser pointer and national anthem disturbance - Mirror Online Has Boris blamed Liverpool fans yet?
I presume engerlund fans are charged in every game they play as they never stop booing other teams anthems. It's one reason why just about every other country in europe is backing italy despite their horrid diving and antics.
There are genuine readers' posts on The Hate saying it wasn't England fans, but others trying to discredit them. I'm surprised they haven't blamed Meghan Markle or Antifa yet.
Complete bull. We all know the profile of the average engurlund fan. Booing is what we do, every single game at the computer has been the same. They were being warned to not sing about bombers at the germany game. It's all in good fun until you realised what it actually means on both sides in WWII.
I couldn't even guess what your average England fan looks like these days. Most of the football fans I know personally couldn't give a toss about the national team. I stopped being interested a good while ago and these days there are too many players in the team who I dislike (not in a tribal way) for me to want them as individuals to do well. Ironically that doesn't mean I want the team to fail, I'm just not that interested. I will be delighted for Henderson because I know it means a lot to him and hope Trent gets a medal for being in the squad and that's about it.
Booing the national anthem is never a good look - it just comes across as childish and petty. BTW when and how did the whole Sweet Caroline thing come about?
Whether you agree with it or not, it's easy to understand the booing of taking a knee but booing the opposition's national anthem is bizarre.
I'll watch almost any football, but I don't recall ever being partisan over internationals, tbh - not even in the wake of '66. At that time the repercussions of WWII were still very evident and I always felt that nationalism, or any form of tribalism, is one of the root causes of conflict. That's one reason I'm so dismayed over Brexit. The rampant Jingoism that follows any British sporting achievement is really cringe-inducing for me. The commentator's ludicrous purple-prose last night was particularly Although club affiliation can be seen as tribal I never feel any animosity towards fans of other clubs as long as they themselves are respectful of others.
They could have sang Beautiful Noise instead. Apparently SC was first adopted years ago by the Boston Red Sox, for some reason - then flapped its way across the Atlantic like so many things. Good job we've already got the best footie anthem in the world.
