So England! It would be nice to see them do what the likes of France, Germany and Belgium have done...shake off the struggles of the groups and really go to town on inferior opposition.

No disrespect to Iceland...I love them and their fans but this should be as far as they go.

See Chille won the Copa beating Argentina on pens after 0-0 draw.

Messi has retired from international football (surprising given WC is 2 years away and ont be 31) and Aguero is contemplating following his lead.

Prolong club careers I should imagine. It is the clubs who pay their wages as well.

I actually think its more to do with Messi thinking that he'll never win anything with Argentina and a frustration with the way the team is run (although last I heard he was pretty much in charge of the national team)

Sterling expected to start.

Reckon it'll be Sturridge and Sterling either side of Kane.

However, Sterling received strong public backing from England assistant boss Ray Lewington and former Liverpool team-mate Sturridge, who told BBC Radio 5 Live that Sterling was "one of the most talented players in the world".

italy will be and we'll cheat you... if you don't cheat yourselves by thinking small.

Swales have a historic and great chance to get to that final.

Yup. All the teams on our side of the draw are beatable.

Only thing I'd say in Belgium's favour is if that it goes to extra time then they've got better players to bring off the bench whereas we have almost no one of note to come on and change the game.

thats fair. ireland proved that if you don't lose your heads (they did) and you keep shape (they did not) then you can beat anyone.

It'll deffo be interesting. One QF now and then who in the SF?
