midfield Alli has struggled but does keep going though like others tempted by the idea of Wilshere though as think he offers something different to our other midfielders.
Attack sorry but if you play up 3 up top it cannot be Sterling ,as his form is so poor it almost looked like he didn't want the ball after about 20 mins, Lala Studge Vardy seems possible.
I think if we play a number 10 it should be Rooney.
today we scraped through but a good team will rip our defence a new one and the midfield has at best average creativity and we are so wasteful in front of goal

I cannot believe we have arrived (again) at a major tournament with our manager not knowing either his best formation or team

I don't think we were overestimating the gap at all, our striker in the first half doesn't have a club at the moment, the striker in the 2nd half spent last season on loan at MK Dons.
