Nevermind, glad my pick of Poland topping the group has gone completely ****ing tits up!!!!!!! <grr>

FFS!

Unbelievable Jeff!

Szczesny sent off for Poland as he brings down Salpingidis in his box.

Greek win the penalty and Karagounis steps up to take it... And it's saved by Tyton!

Both teams down to 10 men and it's an exciting game! Didn't expect it to be this exciting to be honest...

Poland look absolutely rattled right now, that was just offside but **** defending!

Szczesny showing his characteristic indecisiveness there.

Karagounis was a pretty good player circa 2004, didn't realise he was still going.

Samaras is terrible, worse than Heskey.

Full-Time: Poland 1 - 1 Greece

It had it all... Goals, red cards, a penalty, that penalty being saved and some 'interesting' decisions by the ref! Poland were excellent in the first-half. Worked it well down the right and fully deserved their lead. Could have had a few more. The red card changed it all in my opinion. Greece came out all guns blazing and got the goal. The decision to bring on Salpingidis was an excellent decision by the Greece manager. He got involved in an attacking sense and made things happen.

Szczesny deserved to go. Great save by the sub keeper for Poland and he's made a name for himself. All in all, a good first game of this tournament!

EDIT: I would like to refer you all to the first post on the second page of this thread... That's one prediction made and one right so far!

Russia Vs Czech Republic will kick-off at 7.45PM and the build-up has already begun on ITV1.

In the Russia side, the names we'll probably recongise are Yuri Zhirkov (Ex-Chelsea) and Andrey Arshavin. (On loan at Zenit from Arsenal) On the bench, they have Roman Pavlyuchenko (Ex-Spurs) and Pavel Pogrebnyak who started his career in England with lots of goals for Fulham.

For the Czech Republic, we will all remember Milan Baros who played for us for 3 seasons and starts up-front for the Czech's tonight. Petr Cech & Tomas Rosicky are also in the starting line-up.

EDIT: Think we'll have another tight game but Russia to come out on top. 2-1 Russia.

Great prediction, Chris. You're our resident Cassandra it seems. ;) I'm going to steer clear of predictions I think - the less apt you are to make predictions, the less likely you are to look silly in retrospect...or genius, if you get it right!

Missed the Greece-Poland game as I was in work, but reading through the comments made me feel like I was there. Cheers boys. <cheers>

Watching the Russia-Czech game ... Russia absolutely bossing it! Could be a big score this one...

...not a prediction, BTW! <laugh>

Who would everyone take from the games today? There are the obvious ones of Lewandowski for example but anyone surprise you a bit? I like the look of the Pilar ( 14) boy from Czech. Dzagoev is a pretty big name but still unknown in a way so I will throw him in. I like Kuba from Poland. The Greeks biggest young up and comer is Sotiris Ninis but he was **** in the game and subbed at half-time ( which was a pretty damn good sub btw!).

Anyway, Pilar is looking quite good for me for the Czechs.
