I thought we could use a dedicated thread for all things related to the carnival of football about to start in Poland and the Ukraine.
England go into the competition with no real pressure, as most England fans - possibly for the first time in a long while - do not rate the current side. Rather predictably, the media are reporting this, in their own inimitable way, as: 'No Pressure on England - Now Let's Go and Win It!'
I personally feel we'll be lucky to escape the group phase. But, if we do, I feel sure we'll be knocked out in the next round.
As a Liverpool supporter, I'm torn between being annoyed that so many of our players are there, (as other teams' fans are - for different reasons!) because it increases the likelihood of injury, and pleased, as it gives our younger players valuable international experience.
I'm not one for predictions - or at least accurate ones - but here are mine:
Winners: Spain
Next best teams: Germany, Holland
(Not so) Dark Horses: Russia
It promises to be a fantastic competition, and, regardless of how England do, I'm sure we'll all enjoy it.

I'll wait until after the first game before I make a prediction on that I think as it's a bit easier after you see how players step up and fit in their national side - for e.g. at the last world cup it was obvious that Muller was going to have a good competition after a game or two. (is that cheating?)
