Thats it really, better to give it a go, look at the likes of Holland and that poisoned dwarf Robben, makes me sick
Can't believe Holland, the amount of shots they've had over 3 games and only managed a paltry 2 goals, especially when they have Van Persie and Huntelarr up front, is incredible. They were too timid all the way through though, the manager only played an attacking team for the last game and even then they didn't show much urgency to get forward when they needed a goal. I've got an annoying feeling the Germans are going to win the thing, without even playing well. They've managed to win 3 games already without doing anything special at all and at times being outplayed (though I didn't see the game today as I went with Holland-Portugal) And everyone will be playing with themselves about how good Germany are and how they raise their kids to use the ball so well and we'll never be like that...
Backed Germany before the tournament, they have so many good players now. Teams like Spain can only dominate for so long before the players get old or lose form, not so long ago it was France that were the great team, the Germans will be next.
I watched the match again when I was sober, Young was average but there was only one incident when he gave the ball away unnecessarily but it did stand out as it was at the end of the game. In all honesty the whole team was having trouble retaining the ball not just Young. Milner was absolutely gash in the second half, there are several other players they can put in that position ahead of him. He won't play after that anyway I'm sure.
Milner is always absolutely gash I can't understand how e keeps getting in our 11. Both games the right wing has seemed totally non existent, Walcott comes on and suddenly we look much wider.
Spain still have a lot of good young players and I think on paper they are still way ahead of Germany. It's easy to say Germany are so good because of the results they get but they hardly play teams off the park, they've been grinding out results in this tournament and from the first two games (I didn't see yesterday's) it looked like everything they did revolved around Schweinsteiger's constant availability for a pass. If they lost him I think they'd start to lose form. I don't have anything against Germany as a country or in footballing terms, it just annoys me a bit how people are so quick to praise them when they win, ignoring that they're actually doing it rather unfashionably.
They haven't got out of first gear yet, sign of a great team. Won't shed any tears if they do a Russia though in the next round!
Seen the Croatian fans have chucked yet another flare onto the pitch. If it was England would the punishment be more severe than a slap on the wrist?
Italy, Spain and Croatia are in a little imaginary 3-team mini league, in other words take resulst against Ireland out of the equation and look at who has the most points from the remaining games. Italy will have 2, Spain will have 2 and Croatia will have 2. So with that still joint it must come down to goal difference. Yeah you've got a point dj it makes **** all sense. Surely Spain should be top on GD after banging 4 past Ireland?
correct , but its totally daffy isn't it , i remember Football being the simplest of games out there , but this scenario shows how goofy it all is
i didn't know they had changed it until Russia went out. Why change it ? To avoid the chance of a lottery ? Even though that has never happened.
What on Earth has happened to Shay Given? I always considered him one of the best in the Premier League but he's been dire in the Euros. At fault for the build-up to the goal again today - simple catch for him but ends up spinning out of his hands for a corner - which ended up in the back of the net.
He's used to better players being infront of him at club level, well maybe not Villa. They've been pretty much outplayed in every match in this tournament. Not even he can stop them from being beaten.
