I will try not to be rude, but you're either very young, completely naive or been part of some social experiment where you have only just been introduced to the world. The only consistent with politicians is the ability to be inconsistent, when it suits them. The old saying that you can tell he or she is lying, because their lips are moving has never been more apt.
The remain party did not then (or now) have to provide anything beyond the strategy used to convince people to vote leave, as unlike a general election, in theory, those running the country could remain in charge.
Boris, Gove and Farage could have, if they wished, promised every person in the UK a million pounds post referendum, but they were not (and still not in some cases) in a position to offer anything. That is down to the government of the day.
I'm sorry but I'm not sure why you find this so difficult to understand. I do appreciate that there is uncertainty, for all of us moving forward, but as said in an earlier post to you, your anger ISPs being directed at the wrong group of individuals.

I love it, you say you will try not to be rude and then you're very rude and patronising!

Of course politicians lie. But it's the fact that Hull and Pete are saying it makes no difference whatsoever is the issue. If this is a GE then each parties advertising would be held to a certain level so they can't get away with such blatant lying. That is the issue. They didn't just say things they knew were blatantly wrong, they built their entire campaign around these untruths, and did so to influence millions of voters, and haven't been held to account to it because they've quit!

If a party at a GE runs on a manifesto then they are held to it. (unless that's the Sensible Party who think it's sensible to say they haven't got a manifesto).

The fact you, Hull and Pete are saying that because the Leave campaign aren't in power then 1) they have no responsibility over creating a plan or implementing it, and 2) as a result my anger shouldn't be directed at them is laughable.

They lied to a whole nation and convinced a significant number of, for want of a better word, ****wits to vote their way. This has then had a significant impact on the country as a whole and will do for generations.

I've been saying that all along. They don't seem to realise that the Leave campaign and the government are two different things entirely.

Jeez ... Pedantville Plaza must be farthest turn to the right off Barmpot Boulevard ... <laugh>

.... so your expectation was that 'the government' having sanctioned an open refererendum would completely ignore its' outcome?? ... surely the reasonable expectation of those voting was that the 'plan' 'promises' 'road-map' 'doctrine' 'ethos' 'algorithim' (or whatever else you barmpots want to call it) of the successful campaign... would form the basis of the direction the country would subsequently take ... and that this would be implemented by 'the government' ???? ...

... If not ... what the fook did we bother having the ridiculous fookin thing for in the first place? ...

One person who was in a position to create a plan that the Government could implement was the remain campaigner and Prime Minister David Cameron. He seemed to think that it would make us far more vulnerable to attack if we left, and that the financial markets would suffer. He also said he had no contingency plan for defence or the economy in the event of a vote to leave.

Osborne (and Carny) did say they had a contingency for if we left. Osborne said we'd need to make more and deeper cuts and increase taxes to cope with the downturn in the economy/drop in the pound ect, he got castrated for being so negative and Carny said he'd need to pump more money into the economy - effectively quantitative easing - which is what he did, and which is the one thing which has stabilised us.

Apparently they think that the leave campaign didn't create a plan at all and in reality didn't have a clue what they were doing or any evidence to base their campaign on. As a result it was ok for them to base their campaign on lies.

Barmpots not the word...

Carney has said he can act for the Bank of England, but there are limitations to what he can do. Osbourne's plan was ridiculed and dropped.

Cameron said he had no contingency plan for a leave vote, either for the economy or for security.

Have you only started to look at what the referendum was about and consisted of now that it's all over?

It's incredible how little some remain voters seem to know. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

You're right I was being rude, well done you for recognising it!

I will repeat again, but do it it such a way that hopefully you understand (yes this me being patronising)
  • All politicians lie or at least are economical with the truth. Get used to it.
  • If the boot had been on the other foot, would you have really cared, that remain used underhanded tactics to "win" the vote.
  • Most GE, local elections manifestos are built on a whole load of "untruths".
  • The remain campaign used the same scare tactics as the leave. It just that the public did not believe them.
  • The remain, beyond the economy, did not have a coherent strategy. Once the economy story fell flat, why did the remain not move onto the other aspects now being mentioned on this thread and many debates around the country.
  • The £350m lie was exposed long before the vote. Why did remain not capitalise on it.
  • The Leave gang, DO NOT have any responsiliblity to deliver an exit strategy. That is down to the government of the day. The Leave can promise Christmas every day, but they are not in a position to deliver it. What's hard to understand about that.
  • You are perfectly entitled to direct your anger at anyone you like, it's not going to make a difference at this moment.
  • I am certainly not laughing as I voted remain, my future is as uncertain as many.
  • In terms of what the future holds, I believe like many, we are likely to be in choppy waters for some time yet. What none of know is what the future holds. I would rather direct my thoughts and efforts to a bright future, rather than all the doom and gloom that you portray.
  • Finally, I thought you lived in Wales? Didn't Wales vote to leave? Obviously your neighbours don't share your pessimism.

I would recommend the same for you, you ignorant ****wit. If you had the first ****ing clue what you were talking about, somebody apart from your two Hull mates night take you seriously!...

Nobody takes you seriously. You just screech and whine. You bring **** all to the discussion. Whenever it starts to broaden out, you seem to panic and do your utmost to disrupt it. I can only assume that you're terrified it reveals even more of your limitations.

Who do you expect Carney to act for? The Queen? Waitrose? the House of Lords? Of course he's going to act for the Bank of England!

I'll bite and follow your suspect logic thread on this - There was a referendum and according to you, you knew that both sides were lying and that one side, the Leave side, didn't have a plan - ie a clue what was going to happen post Brexit, and that the Government didn't have a Contingency for Brexit either. You knew that none of the Leave promises could be kept as you've admitted you knew they were lies.

And yet despite these things you've said, you still voted leave????

You brought Carney up. <doh>

The leave side didn't need a plan any more than the remain side did. Neither were in Government. <doh>

You don't discuss anything, pal, that's the point! You talk at people, not to them. You shout your opinions - some of them utterly ridiculous - like they were simple facts. And, as has been pointed out many times before, when pulled up on your ridiculous assertions, you resort to any and all of the oft mentioned 'tactics' to try and have the last word!

I've given up on reasoned discussion with you. You just come across as a nob. <ok >
