Perhaps if we adopt the policy in many other countries, so it's not viable to move unless you can support yourself financially, it'd be irrelevant. We did try, but the EU stopped us changing our domestic policy. That's not democracy in my eyes.
The deal Cameron did meant that any immigrant had to fund themselves for 3 months before they could claim a bean. They then only got JSA and child benefit for 3 months - and no housing benefit, before having to either prove they had imminent work i.e. a job offer, or their benefits stopped. So this stopped people just rocking up intending to be benefit tourists.

The overall impact of EU immigration was a positive figure for the treasury coffers.

Sadly the exceptions were all the junk Tory media focused on, as opposed to the vast majority who were just hard working economic migrants.

All avoided by a mate offering them a fake job at their car wash <whistle>

I bet he doesn't even try to enter women, he's more interested in talking about it and being an "internet stud" as well as "internet wealthy".
You sound like a bitter old fat man there Pete...

Oh wait......that's exactly what you are.

As you were, my error

I don't have to announce a moron alert because everybody already knows you are. It's pathetic that every time you show you are not thinking, ie when you write something, rather than admit you got it wrong you squeal about pedantry.
Bless.
Every time I make a point you move it off on a tangent that shows little understanding or resort to inane pedantry

Sadly, those exceptions took up places that could have been filled by non-EU skilled labour we're short of, like the 2,700 nurses turned away.

He's owned you on that subject you silly old sausage.

It's you who's displayed their complete lack of comprehension of the complexity of the problem.

It's a safe bet he types with his left hand.

Apart from pithy comments, he doesn't bring much to the discussion does he? Still, he makes me laugh.

You can't stop squealing about pedantry can you. Why didn't you say "rest of the EU" if that is what you meant? Maybe you are just sloppy about everything.

The nurses could have come over anyway if we hadn't added self imposed limits to non EU immigrants

Those 2,700 nurses won't be coming in now either if Davis view on the total net migration figure post Brexit is shared by the rest of the cabinet eh?
