The vote was very close though treble and the fact that Scotland and NI both voted to remain in will cause a much bigger problem if we come out. i dont want to see a civil war between anyone but if we ignore Scotland and NI then all the good work of making NI a peaceful nation will be thrown away as NI are determined to stay in the EU and i for one dont want to see the IRA back on the streets with their bombs again. It is the same with Scotland they have said they will do everything and anything to remain in the EU and have instructed their SNP members to block any vote by Boris or who is ever made PM. So what do we do. do we ignore the advisory public vote that has split the UK or do we try and reach a solution that will suit everyone whatever that may be..........Its a case of Bombs or no Bombs in my view......
We should never have had a referendum in the first place as the public don't know enough to make a choice...

Aye, some of them used to run trips to Toxteth back in the day.

It depends how you count the numbers, but because of a peculiarity with the border, we're predominantly an inner City area of between 250,000 and 300,000 people, and there isn't a street in the City that's a no-go area. I know for a certainty that the same can't be said for Liverpool, and I can't think of a similar sized City that could claim the same. There also isn't a street in the City that would be unwelcoming to newcomers, southermers and scousers excluded, No offence, it's the voice and attitude. <ok>.

You keep on trying to tell me what I think, and why I think it, and seemingly feeling superior and claiming to expert knowledge which you feel over rides my experience. These are many of the attitudes others have said contributed to them voting leave.

I think you're a tad insecure to start with, and the penny is starting to drop, a you realise it's you that's out of step. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Northern Ireland's different as they could join the south, but Scotland don't have much of a choice, as Europe won't/can't take them, and they can't stand on their own feet, no matter what Jimmy Kranky says.

What's needed in those regions, is the same as is needed in the rest of the UK, with a couple of exceptions, a need to be listened to, for those views to be considered, and to feel truly represented in Parliament.

Had politicians picked up on this feeling, the vote could well have been solidly the other way. The feeling of being disenfranchised is echoed across Europe, and the decision makers still don't seem to have picked up on it fully.

This is typical of the immature people who will not accept reality. I am glad that we voted out. You can throw insults around like a toddler but when it comes down to it you lost the referendum and you don't have the backbone to get on with life.

You dont seem to have much experience of life do you. When a prime minister resigns then the leading contenders for the role do their work in private meetings and on the telephone. They dont dance around in public and post on facebook etc.

It's the "now" generation. If you've never done anything worthwhile in life you dont realise it takes time to do things properly. You blunder along wanting instant solutions. When you dont get them you scream and rage and insult. It's called lack of maturity. Meanwhile the sensible people get on with their lives.

Of course we are part of Europe. It's called geography. No amount of insults makes up for the fact that you lost the referendum. Grow up.

These people who've been making "predictions" dont have a clue about anything. It's normal for the markets to overreact when they get things wrong.

I think there's been every opinion under the sun spouted but we all know that the only important opinions are by people who talk sense. There's plenty of people making plans and got ideas. They just dont do it in public. Right now the important thing is to get votes from the Conservative Party MPs. Then the final two will have to get votes from the Conservative Party members. Then the Conservative Party leader and Prime Minister will form a Government and decide on policy and run the country, including dealing with the EU. I'm sorry but no matter how many clamour for a running commentary it is just not going to happen.

In the meantime the losers will scream and shout while in the real world life goes on.

They tell you what you are thinking and why you are thinking it so they can attack the way you voted. They dont like the result of the referendum. They dont have a backbone. They will be upset for a long time.

Doom and gloom. Doom and gloom. Meanwhile those with some experience of what has happened over the years realise that the long term is more important than the losers getting it wrong yet again and having an inability to face reality.

You give up very easily, don't you?
Why shouldn't the EU want to trade with the UK?
Why would the EU want to insist in free movement extended to a country outside the EU?

There is no logic. The losers are upset that they have lost and are trying to give reasons why the winning side shouldn't do what they campaigned to do. It will happen and the losers will still have lost. Who cares whether they ever get over it or not.

NI cannot join the south without the PM's authority and neither can Scotland have another referendum without the UK governments permission and there is no way anyone would grant that as it would be the end of the UK with just England and Wales left, We are in a right old mess and i don't think Boris anticipated this and he is struggling what to do.....the problem here is the vote was so close and if either side had had a land slide with Scotland and NI following England and Wales then there would not be a problem but it wasn't with two countries voting to remain so there is a massive problem there and nobody has a clue what to do....The PM (Cameron) is right when he says he will not be responsible for ending our EU membership and he will keep on trying to smooth things over as if we will leave until there is a new PM......Cameron said we do have other options but he is just hanging in there until he is replaced. why should he help Boris and Farage in their quest to destroy the UK and nobody can blame him for that...... We will be like this for a long time if Boris don't see sense and come to a compromise as we cant afford to not do normal trade and we cant afford to let the banks keep losing money trying to prop up the pound.......Even though at this time we are still members of the European union our trade is falling like a stone as no country will do any major dealings while we are like this as rightly so they don't know if we can pay or not.....we can still use the single market until or if we leave but nobody wants to risk it......This has to be the most difficult time in our civilized history and somebody needs to take charge and make some decisions and soon....

Because, as Merkel has said, you can't cherry pick what parts of the EU regs you like and which you don't. She has been quite clear that there will be no free trade without free movement.

If you want unrestricted access to trade with the EU, then that's part of the price.
