It's incredible, isn't it. When I was a kid, we sat one day in the dingey, gas-lit kitchen (1950) and one of the papers had announced that Sunderland had just signed Welsh international striker, Trevor Ford, from Cardiff City for £30,000 (no, you haven't read that wrongly). My old man grunted : "Humpn, no bloody man's worth that much" Now it's £100m for some kid who's only played top class football for less than two seasons! Is this madness, or is there more to come?
