And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the Countenance Divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among these dark Satanic Mills?
Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land

Yeah, I know the words well and my understanding of them is that Blake is urging an end to the suffering of working people "in the the dark satanic mills"
The "sword" and "chariot of fire" are metaphorical in the struggle to build a more fair and just society not imagery of war in foreign lands.

****, really? I had it as a wedding song because I liked to put my hands on my hips, shout "bring me my arrows of desire" to the wife, while standing naked at the end of the bed and doing a pelvic thrust.

I must have really mis-interpreted the song.

Now, THERE's a picture which will take a long time to get out of my head ............ <laugh>

Hodgson said to be ready to let the u21s have players from the senior squad. Finally someone is listening to me!! Let's put out our best side and win a trophy for once.

"If Gareth thinks the best way to win the tournament is to jettison a lot of the players he has been working with and take players from our team that is fine by me. We can deal with four or five absentees."

sounds like he's keen yeah.

England ladies team play Germany at 3 pm (BBC2). this is the best side we've had, but Germany are a great side. They've sold 55K tickets for Wembley...apparently that was the cap because of major engineering works...but they reckon they could have sold 70+K. Good luck to them.

Bit late and not sure if posted, but we had a team huddle before the game like we do at Saints (probably Forster and Clyne's idea) and that may have given us a bit of a boost against Scotland.

I used to think it was a Saints thing, but quite a few teams have huddles just before kick-off. I do like it though when the opposition are standing around, waiting to go, and Saints are still revving themselves up in the huddle.

I suppose when it is adopted by everyone we could up the stakes and do a Haka. :)
