Personally I'd have Milner over Henderson all day every day in any team or formation. And then while I think this formation suits our midfield better, our defense is our weakest department by a long way, this requires full backs to have a big say in the attack and we are just not capable of covering for them. For that reason it would be suicidal in a high quality tournament to not be playing 4-5-1/4-3-3 with our players or at the very least 4-4-2 but with some actual wide players in there rather than those who can do a job.
... personally I wouldn't play either ... Milner was bloody awful last night and was left trailing in the wake of Seville players on far to many occasions... he has never been any better than an 'honest joe' and he is now too old ... time to give younger, hungrier more talented players a go...
Yeah Milner was absolutely tragic last night. He couldn't keep up in the 2nd half. I'd play a diamond of; Dier Drinkwater Barkley Alli
Basically, other than the attack and Danny Drinkwater that's a bloody awful England side. 3 central defenders, and they're Stone, Smalling and Cahill? Basically we're going to have to score a lot of goals to have any chance.
I hate this formation England are playing 433 never works. Vardy isnt a winger, Sterling has no end product and Kane keeps dropping deep and taking pathetic shots at goal Get Wilshere off as he is blowing out his arse already. Get Drinky on
Very poor and uninspiring by England so far, Turkey by far on top. Need Drinkwater to have a run out in the middle
Vardy does his best winning a penalty and Kane misses it! Must be honest I was pleased he did as Vardy needs as much goalscoring confidence as Kane so I think he should have taken it. I feel a bit guilty actually as I'm finding myself supporting Vardy and Drinkwater not England!
I thought that at a first glance, the only difference maybe was he got his body in front the the defender rather than just his legs
Vardy wins a peno and scores the winner Play him through the ****ing middle Roy If we made Ranieri manager we would win the Euro
I went to the game today and my opinion of Kane went through the floor. He seems to think he's the star attraction, taking all the free kicks, penalties not playing people in etc. After his goal his shooting and free kicks were abysmal and the BBC give him 9/10 and motm. Still, if you're the darling of the media . . . . .
Jesus christ. This is why England wont ever win anything. You dont pick the team based on where they was 4 years ago
http://www.thesportbible.com/articl...hreds-by-fans-after-turkey-performance-220516 My thoughts exactly re Kane
I read this morning how critical it is to have Kane & Alli due to their supreme understanding after such a successful season for Spurs. Yet Woy is still contemplating the inclusion of Drinkwater. Obviously due to an average season from Drinkwater, not demonstrating an exceptional understanding of linking up with Vardy and not winning anything.....oh wait
Agree Foxy, its not like DD and Vardy created a prime opportunity for Kane or anything, given he was only on the pitch 20 minutes. When Dixon said that Vardy needs to learn not to press on the last man and play more reserved, basically saying "play more like England do and not like Leicester do" i almost threw something at my TV! He wouldn't have had the yards to win the penalty if he'd been playing the England way! Maybe its time for England to suck it up and admit we aren't as good as we think we are and adapt to play something other than the predictable possession based football of yesteryear. We aren't going to scrape 1-0 wins with the defence we're taking to the euros. Im glad Woy feels justified playing 4-3-3 by scoring a goal that was clearly offside, its not like playing Vardy in his natural position helped England at all
