Smalling and Chambers our new CB pairing? <yikes>

If he needs to add to the squad, who is next on Woy's radar, with Jones and Stones injured? Shawcross? Even Caulker? Is there anyone else he's actually called up before?

It looks like we're off to a flyer, Gary Cahill, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Andros Townsend, Leighton Baines and Phil Jagieka have all missed the first training session through injury. <doh>

Are these real injuries ? or their managers hoping to rest their best players, making sure that after the international break the team squad will be at full strength to focus on the premier league. Ever the cynic i am.

They haven't been withdrawn from the squad, they've just skipped training today, it's nothing to do what their club managers want.

I watched the press conference with Woy and he was asked about Carrick and they said they didn't put him in the previous squad because he hadn't had enough game time yet, which I thought was refreshing to hear. Next question about Theo Walcott being including and his answer was well although he has only played 10 minutes Wenger said it was ok so he's in.

Logic.

The so-called 'big club' managers tell Roy which players he can select.

I don't particularly like the fella or his tactics but I reckon at some point he'll blow a gasket (probably after a defeat to a lowly ranked country) and reveal how he has to play second fiddle to these big clubs.

Maybe that's why he's picked so many Southampton players this last year, could be The Saints are quite happy to release them for international duty and he knows he's not going to get a call saying so-and-so has a niggle and can't join the England squad.

There's a lot more to all this then meets the eye - c'mon Roy spill the beans.....

No surprise about Carrick being injured again. He should not have been picked full stop.

Shame about Townsend but he is becoming another sick note.

If Smalling starts for England against Slovenia I'll hoy my telly out of the lounge window in protest.

I only bought the bastard last week but somebody has to do something about this situation and that somebody is me.

Who's with Carmine?

That's the sort of terrorist activity that can get you turned away at the US border later this month.
