Talking to a Leicester fan after the game at the KC earlier this year, he said he never actually wanted Pearson back because he looked at the way he set the team out and said he doesn't want to see a negative Leicester side.

Hull finished above us by 1 point. We loaned them Waggy who scored 1 goal which earned them a draw.

So you wasnt that much better then us. As well you had the new Bobby Moore at the back in James Chester so you should of finished alot higher

Just ask the world cup winning Gordon Banks or our very own Golden boot winning Gary Lineker. Real legends of both the game and our club

Even when our greatest rivals Direby and Florest have history that outshines us - we respect that - and the Chavs won an FA Cup back in 87 we know they are big clubs, but when Hull come on to take the p*ss.. that is funny. <party>
 
I wonder if the Hull fans enjoyed their trips to Atletico Madrid and Red Star Belgrade in a meaningful Cup Competition ???

It's the not the fact that he's fat that he's a Club legend though. Obviously players such as Banks and Lineker are genuine football legends, however, for what little success City have had in their entire history, it came with the returns of Nick Barmby and Dean Windass.
They're both from Hull, Barmby could have easily gone to another Premier League team but chose to join us in League 1. Dean Windass is the one of the funniest players football has seen. Times such as warming up in front of Rory Delap before he was about to take a throw in, stupid dances, hiding behind the keeper and pretending to get ready to Rugby tackle him, having a video chat with Helen Chamberlain on Soccer AM in his briefs.
Deano also came back when we were struggling, at 38 years old, managed to score 15 goals including the one that kept us in the Championship and sent Leeds down to League 1 (That should be legend status in itself - He sent TWS down!). Next Season at 38 years old he scored another 15 plus the goal that sent us to the Premier League for the first time in our History. There's not many players that can regularly score goals in their really late 30's. (Kevin Phillips being the most recent).
Barmby regularly scored goals for us, has played for England under managers such as Vennables and also helped clinch Promotion to the Premier League with 2 goals in the Play Off Semi Finals against Watford. His career, he has been consistently brilliant. He is also one of 5 players - I think it's 5 players - to score for 6 different Premier League teams. His work ethic was 2nd to none, the term 'impact sub' was invented for him.
These have been great to the fans, acted like fans at times and have always wanted what's best for the Club. They have sentimental reasons to be our legends rather than footballing reasons.

Barmby scored goals regularly throughout his time at City in his late 30's too.

Deano would have been a legend at any club. Not for his talent but his infectious attitude to the game. He loved the game and that was clear for all to see. He's the kind of player who kids look up to.

Good to see him back on the tele from time to time, couldn't believe it when I heard he tried to take his life.

Gutting, he was going through a torrid time like.
He had fallen out with his dad, who eventually died and Deano regrets not making up with him. He went through a divorce and had retired from the game he so loved.
I mean, he described things as horrible as he had to wake up in the Morning, NOT go to football as he was so used to doing, NOT waking up alongside his wife and seeing his kids, and missing his father. He loved playing the game, and the way his Premier League appearances for us were so limited due to an apparent blame for an abysmal team performance at The Etihad on Boxing Day, probably surprised him.
I would really like to see Steve Bruce appoint him as striker coach, he'd love just to have a role at the Club in some way.

Nice to see admiration for him from you too. Shows Football isn't always rivalry.

Your right, I think every football fan wants their team to have a great past, present and future, tbh I admit Hull City are not a massive club, but to us we consider legends like Barmby, Deano, Raich Carter and Ken Wagstaff, obviously Leicester have a better past (as do Leeds <steam>), but football is a large sport, so who knows, perhaps Hull City can be a massive club some day, it may not be soon or even in our lifetime but it could happen, I wish I could live to see Hull City win a Premier League or FA Cup or at least see a City player playing for England, at least Hull, Leicester and Leeds fans arn't glory supporters like ****ing Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal, ****ing hate glory hunters with a passion, it pisses me off more because two of my best mates are Man U supporters, do they live in Manchester? Do they ****.
 
I like Dean Windass. He is class on soccer Saturday. Jeff Steling asked him a question once and Windass just turned around and goes "sorry Jeff I don't know I wasn't paying much attention"

I remember when we played in league 1 and he was playing for Oldham. Their keeper got sent off and Windass went in goal for 30 mins. First thing he had to do was try and save a Peno from Matty Fryatt. Windass done him on mind games and Fryatt put the Peno wide

He is a bit like Robbie Savage he is just someone everyone loves to hate. But at the end of the day everyone liked him. Is he still in depression or has he come through the other side? I hope he fights through
 
People think of Deano as just a bit of a 'joker' but ask anyone who played alongside him or against him and they'll tell you he was an extremely intelligent player on the pitch, perhaps not so intelligent off it. So similar to Gazza in many ways.
