How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

  • Total voters
    23
You ever tried to use the Thameslink on a weekday? Those ****s break down more often than Darren Anderton.

But the point really is if you’re going to have mandatory voting you have to make voting as accessible as possible.

You have to make voting as pleasant/convenient as possible.

For example, if there was a train crash and you got stuck,
what could you do ??

Can I vote in any constituency station and not just the
one pre-determined for me (I can get it done in time
at the former but not the latter) ??

Can I contact the authorities to inform them of things,
and then go to an "after hours" station to cast
my vote (there wouldn't be many of us) ??

I believe most of these issues can be removed by
'high Pareto' solutions that also would not cost
the world.

The **** is a high Pareto solution?

Many explanations but I chose the most simple one...

AI Overview

The Pareto principle, or 80/20 rule, states that roughly 80% of outcomes (results) come from 20% of causes (inputs).

Pareto optimal just means something where you can’t make it better in some way without making it worse in another. Probably need my money back on that economics degree as I’ve never heard of a high Pareto solution.

So I believe many of the valid "what if" scenarios
for 100% mandatory turnout will be accommodated
by what exists or with nominal extra effort.

Feels like a lot of effort to achieve basically nothing. It’s a shame when people can’t be arsed to vote even if they’re complete morons and pick a name at random or spoil the ballot but the freedom to not be arsed is part of having the freedom to vote.

Perhaps you should wait til see exactly what he says cos we could be chatting bollocks <laugh>
Not looking good for him at the moment.

I don't know what news you get where you are, but so far 56 MP's have called for Keir Starmer to go.

I think the main consensus appears to be for him to set a timetable and go in September. September is so they can get Andy Burnham in place, who seems to be the most talked about replacement.

Wes Streeting supporters want Keir Starmer to go immediately. This would not favour Andy Burnham being in place and they obviously know that.

Rumour this is going to escalate over night and chances the cabinet might make a move tomorrow, but not sure in what regards.

Edit: that number has gone up to 58 just moments after me posting this.

He's a gasbag, I don't like him, but suspect it his supporters doing the **** stirring, because they know they can get ahead of Burnham, as Labour will not be able to get him in place in time - now will Streeting make a head on challenge (over-night which is what I think they meant), because he knows if he does not make the challenge now, then everything will favour Burnham in the future. However, I can't see the public favouring WS, so it just makes the situation worse.

Can’t even imagine vehemently hating him. He’s a Debenhams suit. A tea which is a bit too weak but not awful. Paul McCartney. Adam Lallana. A 27,000 seater football ground built in 2004. Caffè Nero. Just things that are basically fine but nobody’s favourite and you don’t think about them at all either way. Like vehemently hating Colgate toothpaste. You could swap him with a guy who has done the same procurement manager job for a stationery company for 20 years and nobody would notice either had changed. If you put every man in the world in order on any topic he’d be exactly in the middle on all of them.
