How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

Spurfy is the typical migrant that resents his original country. I've gone through spells like that, but you can't forget where you come from.

Probably way worse in Scotland cos a bunch of them genuinely hate the English.
You just reminded me the conversation when this kicked off once before.

Spurf made an assumption about where you lived, and I'm not sure he actually believed me when I alluded to where you really live. Then you came online and it all kicked off. <laugh>

Historical Deficit Trends (GERS Data)
  • 2000-2010: Scotland’s fiscal position was strongly supported by high oil prices, with periods where the fiscal gap was relatively low or occasionally in surplus depending on revenue calculations.
  • 2010-2015: As oil revenues dropped, the deficit widened, with the nominal deficit growing from 5% of GDP in 2011/12 to 8.3% in 2012/13.
  • 2015-2020: The deficit averaged around 6% of GDP, notably higher than the UK average.
  • 2020-Present: The COVID-19 pandemic caused a significant spike to nearly 38 billion in 2020-21. While decreasing, it remains high, with the 2024-25 deficit at £26.2 billion. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
What’s the Celtic data saying?

Barnet council (which has Golders Green
as a parish) means the Labour/Tory
councillors are split 50:50.

With the one "kingmaker" councillor being ... a Green.

< irony >

The fact Kemi Badenoch came out today genuinely celebrating these results as a major victory is just ****ing incredible considering they've done just as, if not worse than the ****ing Labour Party.
The Tories have flopped mate, I’m not defending them here but there’s no way you could consider them doing worse than Labour. In most areas where it was between them and Labour battling for the councillors, the Tories wiped the floor with them for the seats that were available.

This is my problem with her. Once you get through the shouty bit, she does not seem to comprehend that her party is as unpopular as Labour. She really does have delusions of grandeur.
Yet she’s got the best approval rating of all the current leaders.

You do mate, don't mind me bro I love others creating the conversation or any chaos that ensues. I got no interest in the SNP so tend to just scroll straight pass Spurfs stats, and by the sounds of what you and Solid say it's all bullshit anyway. Must admit the prescription lark caught my eye, but as has been discussed before, anyone can buy a prescription card and get their initial prescription charge refunded if paid. Well I think anyone. Although ****ing glad I don't pay for my prescriptions, it'd be cheaper to die lol
The standard £9.90 price is a bit of a joke. I haven’t had a proper night sleep for 6 weeks, either not sleeping at all, or light sleeping for 3 hours. My GP prescribed me just 4 zopiclone tablets (they haven’t worked btw) and I had to pay £9.90 just for that. Personally thought that was a bit much tbf.

Nice interview from Zia this morning. Looks like he’s been up all night on the gear, celebrating the results.

And Hackney.

And perhaps even the Peoples' republic of Haringey
(any betting folks here wanna consider a punt
against citizen Lammy ?? ) .

The destruction of Labour in London is incredible.
They have lost of control of councils they have had since :

1. London boroughs were codified (1961 - Southwark)

2. year one of UK currency decimalisation
(1971 - Hackney, Haringey etc)

It’s the same with the North east. Sunderland had been Labour since 1951. South Tyneside has always been Labour. I think they’ve got 1 councillor now out of 57/58. It’s dramatic.

I still find it remarkable that Starmer won’t throw in the towel. He’s causing so much damage to the party by digging his heels in.

Over the counter: Promethazine hydrochloride 25mg also known as Phenergan. This is tablet form, reading NHS online it comes in liquid form at a lower dose I believe.

For the same price at ONLY one a night, you will get two months supply (something like 56 tablets per packet). It was originally and still is an antihistamine, but it got noted for it's drowsing / sedating properties. Treats short-term insomnia.

Doctors don't like giving out sleeping pills these days.

Disclaimer: Usual warnings and medical advice, do not drive or use machinery, seek GP / Pharmacist advice if taking other medication. https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/promethazine/how-and-when-to-take-promethazine/

I'm basing above on adults only 18+

To paraphrase Colonel Kurtz :

He's a errand boy, sent by global grocery clerks
to attempt to collect a bill from the UK.

My concern is how "scorched earth" he will go
on the UK between now and july 2029

... did you vote on that? did any of us on here? ... what and where was the sample taken?
...means diddly squat tbph...

I'm not a fan of Keir Starmer by any means - he really is Mr Bland ... but Kemi gets humbled every time she tries to take him on at PMQ ... she has made the Tories totally unelectable...
