I remember him speaking strongly against any form of gun control after one of the many school shootings...certain amount of irony in him being murdered with a gun.
TBH politics in the US seems way more polarised than here (and imho its very polarised here) and there seems to be a violent hatred whipped up and acted out on usual media and social media rather than political debate.
Not my kind of person but killing him is beyond my comprehension... politics is kinda ****ed at the moment

Btw I would ban guns if it was me, but that's because I'm British so I think differently to Americans.
And the difference is... motor vehicles are more or less necessary for the economy and society of the US to keep running. Gun's are purely a cultural thing in the US- people can argue for or against them by whatever means they mean to take- but it's an optional cost of life. The US wouldn't stop operating if they gave up guns.
So we will excuse 160,000 vehicle deaths over 4 years then, ah ok. There is no difference only excuses. If we locked people up for longer, if we took their licences away from them sooner and for life there would be far less deaths on the road.

60% of Americans favour stricter gun laws- so I'm hardly an outlier in being opposed to gun laws being what they are- of anything I'm in the mainstream of public opinion for gun laws.

That's if they got to pick- or went to country of their ancestors. Most don't get to pick where they're deported to, and many don't get deported where they came from.
Rwanda might end up with a lot of "European-Americans" if the whites get deported. They're taking in a bunch of the deportees now.
