How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

I think it was obvious from her tv interview that she was going to go, just listening to it was like ouch in the sense of what I said previously, that she probably had nothing to back up her claims. I think it was the Telegraph that went digging, from seeing the news bulletins yesterday.

Tbph I'd rather her still be there, she was pretty harmless and kept her head down, which is lot for someone as loud as her, just the thought of Lammy replacing her is like the nightmare on elm street, I just hope Kier can handle him, I'm not convinced.

Her Tax Advisors delivered the final fatal blow

We gave her advice based on details she chose to tell us NOT the details she should have told us. allegedly

haven't seen an actual copper in anything but a car for over a decade .

That must depend where you live. See them every day in Finsbury Park tbf, but never when the crims are about. We had armed AT officers outside the station for a few days recently, it’s amazing how anti-social behaviour just doesn’t happen when they’re about.

Turns out Farage does like immigration and people seeking citizenship oversees after all.

As long as it's about being able to stash your money offshore to avoid paying tax

Who'd have thunk it

1,000 migrants landed today, nothing to see here. :bandit:

Probably be another 1,000 tomorrow, because it's supposed to be nice again.

It's raining so everybody can calm down

How is this progress? What it seems to imply is that while we will grant refugee status to original applicant on the basis of likelihood of persecution where they are fleeing from, we won’t even consider that their families might also be in the same position.

It's aligning us more closely with the rest of Europe but also addressing the financial burden the UK faces by aligning the family rules for general migrants with refugees ... I.e. if you want your family to come you need to demonstrate that you can support them rather than the financial burden of upkeep falling solely on the British taxpayer ...

Your point on the families facing the same situation is valid... but if I thought my family would br exposed, I wouldn't have left them behind in the first place; would you?

@brb fears come true Starmer in favour of ID cards to help keep track of you illegal immigrants identify illegal immigrants

So here's how I off the top of my head think this will go...

No way can I see it just being a paper/card type of ID, it will probably be on your phone, much like the NHS app I have on my phone. Eventually that ID card will incoporate everything, so your drivers licence, health details, even passport one day. This will be a future dictators dream come true, no one can go anywhere unless permitted, the government will hold all the cards on your life and your compliance.

We've already seen some indications of this, with 200,000 random child benefit checks having taken place in the UK, where they accessed government border force details to check if random people had travelled abroad and how long for, without your permission or knowledge of them doing so, despite something like over 197,000+ never ever having commited any crime. And even the remaining total were mostly a misunderstanding of the rules, than actually committing a crime.

In 2026 the next lot of legislation passes where they will have access to anyones bank account details for anyone claiming state pension or benefits. They already check statements and are allowed to question transactions, but currently don't have direct access to the detail, they have to request it from the claimants and are then allowed to ask questions around any transactions that have been disclosed.

Not to forget those emergency alerts sent to people's mobiles, again something the government just went ahead and did. Covid has escalated all this to ridiculous proportions, cashless now gradually being eroded as a method of payment in many places, replaced by a digital footprint of every transcation you make, which can be accessed by the government when they feel like it, or make rules to fit.

Your phone tracks where you go, CCTV has been around now for everywhere you go, and you can't even escape it in your car ANPR. Now even facial recognition being recognised as the way forward by police forces and goverment. Let's not kid ourselves we are becoming a police state, the sort of thing often only dreamed about in North Korea and why, which of us asked for any of this, the future will not be thanking us.
