How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

Are Reform voters actually happy with the election results?

All this talk of a “people’s movement” and upsetting the established order and they’ve only managed a 1.5% vote percentage increase on 2015 (when Farage last led a right wing party that competed in all seats). And that’s after a massively unpopular Tory government and stoking the “culture wars” in recent years.

Yes, they have five MPs (less than half the numbers predicted in the exit poll) but there’s a risk they’ve hit a ceiling. Farage talks about making them more electable and mainstream, but that approach may turn traditional voters off (“they’re all the same etc.”)

Also, will Farage - the populist outsider - enjoy actual local government? Will he spend five years in Clacton addressing people’s needs or will he actually spend more time jetting to America and doing his TV shows and radio phone ins?

They won’t be happy unless we’re at war with France and hanging trans people in the streets so probs not.

Did they get five in the end?

Farage ****ed up a bit, cos he prepared them for like 4-5 MPs at best. So they're not up in arms furious like they probably have a right to be.

Only 4 seats less than the SNP's - has anyone seen Spurf since the Election results, or has he fooked off back to the Spurs board now? :cheesy:

Yeah, they narrowly won the South Basildon and East Thurrock seat last night after a few recounts.

Oh wow, I saw the ex-saints chairman won his seat in the end.

Honestly 5 seats in FPTP is brilliant

Yeah but that's South Basildon and East Thurrock mate, it's sort of one of those places you avoid if at all possible. Sadly there was talk/plans of a new link road to the M25 from the Kent side going through East Thurrock (I think) an area everyone knows exists but best ignored.

Similar to the Greens. Usually get one seat at best, now they’re on four.

The Greens changed it up for the better. They took locals and local politics seriously.

As Daisy Cooper said last night, if you're in this system, play it right.

Listening to Keir Starmers speech today, makes a change to listen to someone who at least sounds professional in delivery.

He's on a round trip to visit all four nations tomorrow.

Excellent.

Think I'm right in saying Sinn Fein won't take their allowed seats in Westminster.
yes because being Irish Republicans they have an abstention policy to the institutions of the forced division of the island of Ireland .
Quite how this squares with sitting at Stormont (the symbol of Unionist supremacy) and in the Dail is beyond me .
