Andrew George was a good local MP the last time he was in office. The Tory Derek Thomas was trying to dig him out the other day saying that when he was last in office, there was nothing but protests about the NHS and that he's delivered on local NHS services.
1. He hasn't. Loads of services have either been farmed out privately or assimilated into the main Royal Cornwall Hospital since DT has been in office.
2. The protest to keep West Cornwall's A&E was actually headed up by Andrew George, because it was the ****ing Tory run council that wanted to close it down
Derek Thomas is a bellend. He's also a Creationist who actually believes that the world is 10 thousand years old and was created by God in 6 days, who had a day off on Sunday. So that kind of explains a lot.
They do pay tax but that's not enough of an argument for or against the right to vote. As I posted before everyone pays tax - a 10 yr old buying a bar of chocolate is paying tax.

Yeah the kid has pretty a bad brain condition of some sort and needs constant care. Didn’t know about his wife but saw she had a walking stick accompanying him to vote.

I'd argue it's more than just VAT though.
At 16 a lot of young people get their first paid jobs and start paying income tax, and also contribute to household incomes.
I think there's a study in Scotland where 16 year olds can vote, has shown that people have far more engagement in politics and are more likely to vote as they get older.
I don't see any negatives to lowering the voting age personally.
His son is dependent for life I know that much, he was quite open about his fear for him when he himself dies. I thought that video was touching and I'm not someone who get's emotional.
But his wife has been also deteriorating fast too apparently.
Treble will turn this into another reason 4 year olds should be allowed to vote or something
