How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

  • Total voters

My last two girlfriends have been Scottish. I’ve lived in Aberdeen and Kilmarnock. Still have a couple mates in Glasgow.

It’s not nice but the truth is Scottish people don’t like Londoners. They’ll be bewildered at this guy pushing for independence and they’ll see him as a ‘useful idiot’. The party he supports has members that want English people booted out as soon as independence is guaranteed.

The saying about Turkeys voting for Christmas was invented for this guy.

What a legacy to leave. What did you do with your life? Oh, I moved to Scotland to become a useful idiot.

I just think it's staggeringly ignorant as there are plenty of Scots who want to remain as part of the UK

More so in fact, at the last Referendum.

He’s going along with the party lines. This is how they behave. All the polls suggest that there’s still no appetite for another independence vote and that NO would win again anyway. They don’t care about that. They don’t care about the Scottish people that vote against it.

Scottish Nazi Party <ok>

I thought it was all the British in Edinbrough who turned the tide for remain?

All for the people having a choice. NHS Scotland, go at it. A military, goowan.

currency, Bering behind other nations to join the EU.
It’s all positive for Scotland.

Let them go ffs, if they wanna go at it alone, let em.

They wouldnt qualify for EU membership on their own at any rate, so they couldnt use the Euro, so they would have to start their own currency.

I reckon we should troll the **** out of them.
Let them secede, then let England re join the EU and laugh at them, would be ****ing hilarious.

The English vote would have made a difference, no doubt. NO would have still won without any of them, though.

The Scottish navy after independence will be frightening…

Nobody is stopping them! They’ve voted to stay but the SNP don’t believe in democracy and keep demanding referendums until they get the result that they want.

They’ll have to continue to use the pound after independence but unfortunately for them they’ll have to abide by the interest rates that we set for them.

It's not about England and that's your problem. Around half of Scots want Independence and that cannot be ignored. Support has grown since the referendum in 2014 and looks set to continue to grow. Young people get it and as they become the majority Independence will happen.

I am not dictating to anybody I live in Scotland and if you live in Scotland you get to vote in Scotland. 10% of the population of Scotland are English and we have a sizable number of English Scots supporting and working for Independence. It's the normal situation for countries to be be Independent the Scottish situation is not normal.

Scots who live in England vote in England they have no right to vote in Scotland. English who live in a foreign country vote in that country you cannot live in France and vote in England. Only apartheid states restrict voting by ethnicity or nationality.

I moved to Scotland because I wanted away from Tory England. England keeps voting Tory, even now after the total disaster of the last 14 years the Labour party has to adopt Tory policies to get elected. Scotland has not voted Tory for over 40 years but it constantly gets Tory governments imposed on it by England. England wants to be a big player on the world stage it cant come to terms with losing its empire.

Why do you think England fights so hard to prevent the Scots leaving? It's because it would lose credibility on the world stage and also lose income from Scotland. Some people think Scotland can't survive on its own when the reality is quite different. The richest countries in the world are mostly small countries the size of Scotland and smaller. Once again the myth about England subsidising Scotland goes on. The opposite is true.

Projections say that the South of England is going to run out of water in 30 years (look it up) In Scotland Loch Ness contains more water than all the lakes of England and Wales put together. We have 30,000 Lochs in Scotland. Renewable Energy we are already self sufficient, we have way more than enough to power the whole of Scotland. Then there's oil and gas.

I know you don't like my facts which is why you tried a smear about being anti English. I am English as I said I just prefer Scotland as a place to live, and I didn't come here for the weather.

The same thing always happens when the subject of Scottish Independence comes up in England. The lack of knowledge of Scotland is immediately apparent as people churn out the same old Daily Mail bollocks.

Scotland really is a different country with different values, culture and aspirations. At the moment these are difficult to express because in the UK Scotland represents only about 10% of the people so is always out voted.

Now I am going back to the Spurs board which I am sure you will all welcome.:emoticon-0109-kiss:

I'm not reading all this bolloxs.

Straight out of the SNP handbook. You’ve been brainwashed.

A sizeable number of English people in Scotland support independence? No they don’t. Can you back that up?

Scotland has the biggest deficit out of all the UK nations. It is subsidised by Westminster. You keep comparing Scotland to other smaller nations but you don’t take into consideration the massive drink and drug problem that Scotland has. It is a country of people not being fit for work and it has a massive shortage of skilled workers.

10% of Scotland is English people. That’s another figure you’ve massaged. It’s about 7% or 8%. I’d be surprised if any more than 5% of English people in Scotland voted for independence. Every English person I know in Scotland hates the SNP. There’s a few lads on the Sunderland board live there and to a man they despise the nationalists.

England are going to run out of water? That’s a first <laugh>

Yeah right, would be delighted to.

The most common crimes in Gillingham are violence and sexual offences, with 5,114 offences during 2023, giving a crime rate of 61. This is 8% lower than 2022's figure of 5,531 offences and a difference of 4.96 from 2022's crime rate of 66

Lovely place to live. as it says

Why move to Gillingham? Gillingham is a friendly and diverse place. The High Street has a thriving market on Mondays and Saturdays. There are excellent transport links and fabulous leisure facilities.

So the standards are quite low then.<laugh>

Not the first time you've referred to Medway or one of it's towns, just to point out, that's like me assuming you living in Tottenham. I don't particular care about what happens in Gillingham or Medway, like I assume the crime in Tottenham don't affect you either.

Again no facts, just assumptions.

Just as I don't live in Paisley.

It would be great if you lived in Manchester and supported Gillingham, sort of a reverse of the usual United supporter living in Surrey.

I never mentioned Paisley, not once, I merely put up a link highlighting wonderful Scotland.

So far you've assumed where Welshie lives, and made an assumption where I live, I'd have thought you would have worked out by now living in Scotland, that people live in different places to where they grew up. In fact loads of people on here don't live where their supported team is, if you can't get those basic facts right, it don't say much for the rest of your so called facts.

Anyway, I'm bored with this nonsense now.

You wouldn't read my facts <laugh> I am not reading that bollox you said. Never mind brb I'm sure this is not going to change your life in anyway. Just ignore my stuff if it annoys you. I'll avoid this thread in future so as not to upset the locals, wherever they live.

Stick around, @Welshie and @Saf like you here...I'm just busy so need to go. I'll read back laters, I just won't read any of your long winded bolloxs. <ok>

Oh and @PINKIE messaged me, saying can you lift his board ban, as he may have some important news to share with you all over the coming week or two.

Not going with a PINKIE lift but if you like I'll put it to the other mods on the Spurs board.
