I didn't really know what this meant, I heard it on SKY News, I think it's illegal, so I googled it and found this Mancherster story on it... https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...rton-denton-byelection-family-voting-33499268Gorton and Denton by-election. Election observers state they have noticed concerningly high levels of family voting?
Never gone in a booth with anyone my entire voting life. You make your choice and get on with it and let other family members do the same.
Reform are facing a big, and perhaps unforeseen, challenge ... voters disillusionment with the Tories and Labour has made the political field ripe for change ... but the emergence of Restore and the empowerment of the Greens has thrown the obvious direction of travel for a disgruntled electorate up in the air ... and Reform are not being helped by appearing to be the final resting place for a bunch of failed and discredited Tories ...
Could all converge into the most unpredictable (and interesting) General Election in a century...
Reform are still ahead in every single poll, are the second best performing party in Scotland and Wales and should never have come second in Denton, a left bias seat.
Reform are a cockroach that refuses to die.
There are not many post GE by elections that are won by the party in government.
Sure I had seen an article that showed of the last 10 by elections before Denton, all had been won by the other parties.
This shows the post GE / US midterm change in polling. I would still expect a Labour GE win in 2029, but with a reduced majority.

Our shadow home secretary fell for a recycled post that was updated from the EU referendum and seemed to support family in the booth voting.

I saw it reported they were going in the booths as well to influence family members - so what makes you say it wasn't?It's not about going into the booths - it's about certain individuals apparently vocally trying to influence their own family members at the Polling stations ...
"Tabitha! ... if you don't vote for the Greens like the rest of us, you can wave goodbye to the Tennis Club!"![]()
Yeah, it’s a worry that people could be influenced by others to use their vote away from what they want.I saw it reported they were going in the booths as well to influence family members - so what makes you say it wasn't?
