This sounds like whataboutery to me.
From my understanding you can't strip someone of their peerage, it would have required legislation to strip Mandelson of his, he's made the governments job easier by retiring, although it still may require some legislation, because it's not that easy just to give up.
So I think this still may be brought to the House that the law requires changing, from what I've heard Labour may oppose that (complete legislation change), as the Tories have also previously opposed it.
The current government under Keir Starmer now has chance to try and bring about those changes again, be interesting to see if he takes that opportunity, I will not be holding my breath on it though, because they are all thick as thieves.
I called for Mone at the time to be removed and I also said she should be in jail. Her current status is voluntary leave of absence and has stated no wish to return - she cannot attend sittings to vote.
Her situation is the same as Mandelson and Ed Davey has said the current system is antiquated, discussed live on air today (The media) he wants Mandelson AND Mone held to account....
