Get the point... but...

If you feel strongly enough about making your point / expressing your view... and you are a registered gun holder, why would you not take it? ... you already know these ****s can't be trusted ... there is a tipping point for people - different amongst each - but it's there...

Plenty of Iranians were well aware of the risks protesting against their regime - but had reached that point - nobody is saying 'should have known better' ...

For me, you just have to admire the courage and conviction of such people ... the alternative is to accept injustice and repression ...

All very well for me to say as a 66 year old sipping a cuppa in my cozy gaff, I know - but a younger me might have been somewhat more rad ... <laugh>
Why would I not take it?...I think that reason is pretty obvious, unless you plan on using it. Just gave them an excuse to butcher him. We will never know how the scenario would have played out if he didn't have the gun, they may well of still shot him like they did the woman. But in both cases the Agents will say they had weapons car/gun, we all know that's bullshit, but two people are dead as a result.

Anyone protesting when you know the regime (be it Russian, American, Iranian) is trigger happy is asking for trouble imo.

Fair play to them for being brave but ultimately they won’t change a thing imo and they risk paying the ultimate price.

Like you it’s easy for me to say as luckily I don’t live anywhere with that issue (yet) but even then I think I’d be keeping as far away from it as possible

Nothing like a good psychodrama, that they say they are trying to avoid. <laugh>
Oooh we’re worried about the cost of a mayoral election. Yeah course you are lads.

It does remind me of Russia when I see the ICE agents, they make sure you lose your job as well in Russia - saw a documentary on it one time, where some woman couldn't get a job after protesting, pressure gets put on the employer by the state. That's the next thing I'm waiting for Trump to do, especially if any are government employees. Oh and go the Trudeau approach and threaten to freeze bank accounts of protestors, never forget that one during covid. Thankfully Russian citizens don't carry guns, or I don't think they do.

Andy Burnham complaining the media knew about the NEC decision before him. I'm not sure whether he buries himself in a hole and is deaf and blind to everything going on around him, but even I knew what the outcome was going to be, it was explained in clear detail. I was surprised he even attempted to go for it, knowing what had been said. It wasn't even a close decision - It's what the media do, they big you up, so your fall makes a great news story. Not saying it's right, but don't going acting the dumbarse when you play the media and they then play you, they just love biting the hand that feeds them...

@AndyBurnhamGM

PS - The fact that the media was informed of the NEC decision before I was tells you everything you need to know about the way the Labour Party is being run these days. You would think that over 30 years of service would count for something but sadly not.

Kicking off all over the place between pro and anti government Iranians. That we have large groups of young blokes, mostly born here probably, on the streets en masse chanting for Khomeini is a sad indictment on their parents and our education system.

Trump is spiralling now - saying there will be a full investigation into every aspect ... which I think can be interpreted as 'oh **** the videos on the net are damning'

... but of more concern to him is that a large part of his fan base, the NRA and other 'Gun Activists', are up in arms (pun intended) at Trump's inference that the carrying of a gun constituted a 'threat' to officers ...

Kemi for PM.

Honestly think she’s got a great chance.
