Ah that Morgan

One wheel at the back kind of makes sense, but one wheel at the front where all of the steering and force of braking takes place just seems like a bad idea to me.
remember having a go in Robs Invalid carriage (not on the road i should make clear) and even on an empty tarmac area it felt dodgy when cornering at 15 mph .That was around the time no more new ones would be issued and Mobility Allowance came in

Twice this past week I've had a puncture and even with a partially deflated tyre and four wheels, cornering is sketchy

I can only imagine what it's like driving trike <laugh>

Coming in a bit late on this PIP conversation.

expected to be looking at 5bn worth of savings by the Labour government…..

was estimated at 12bn the tories were looking at.

what’s most important is that the most vulnerable and in need are the last ones who are looked at. And that tax on millionaires and billionaires is set accordingly and tax avoidance is punished….not just those doing some cash in hand jobs.

Mate , the most wealthy in our society pay way less in tax as a percentage of total income than people like me who pay higher rate tax on our only source... our wages ... the system should be flexed to differentiate between 'passive' and earned income ...

My youngest is at Uni - she gets minimal support from the government due to what I earn - my missus hasn't worked for a number of years but if our annual income (my salary) was split 50:50 with her instead of all being earned by me, my daughter would get more or less full support ... the system is so flawed in so many ways ...

About 9,000,000 earn between £25-£30k a year. Paying more than those earning over £150k

I earn well and wouldn’t mind paying more.

university wise, sadly that’s now almost entirely self funded.

I escaped fees but did t get much in the way of the old grants dished out. I had to work term and summers.

Gotta laugh at the Yanks - JD Vance, Heskgeth and the CIA all claiming that the Signal leak included absolutely no classified information and therefore wasn't a risk etc - so Goldberg now publishes the whole transcript... because he can't now be sued as he has already had effective 'classified' clearance ... Donald Duck wl be pulling somebody else's hair out ... comedy gold - it's like Yes Minister...the "across the pond" sequel <laugh>

There was some American Commitee meeting around all this yesterday, being shown live on SKY, it was just comedy gold, democrats (I assume) the ones ripping the complete arse out of it, and trying to nail the Republicans (assumed) down on what actually occurred, all they got was can't talk about it, classified information, complete cover up job and everyone in denial. I think what I did like about it, it was refreshing from a Brit perspective to see someone over there challenging this crap and with quite vocal force. Also to see from the messages what some really think, although that felt a bit like someone suddenly saying brb don't like the EU, like no, really, shock horror - although I'm not sure the Americans are able to define between Europe and EU, so it's not quite the same thought process as mine, and using terms such as freeloading Europe is even insulting to me as I'm European, and I certainly wouldn't say our country was freeloading...I suppose it could relate to defence.

Was on a management course many years ago with a young lad Matthew Humphries.
Turns out he was one of the main designers at Morgan, he did the GT as a design project while on his university ‘placement’ and some other stuff.

never knew they were made from plywood panels until that point.

Anyway, there is some good news, Kent is getting a new crossing under the Thames, that we've been waiting 14 years for, cost...

£9B :bandit:

I done a @Welshie bold the cost.
£9B to reduce traffic at the Dartford crossing by 20%. Doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense to me and seems like another transport project to try to prove how good the highways agency is!
If it had been 50%, maybe it would be worthwhile.

I agree. I honestly thought it was going to be scraped, so I was a bit shocked when £9B suddenly appeared. I can't see the purpose of what it's all about or what it's going to alleviate and how, and whatever it's alleviating will it just move the problem on to another point in the network. A bottle neck somewhere else or added to. Thankfully I avoid the area these days, so I'll rarely use it once it's complete. I think I'd have preferred to spend that money elsewhere, but maybe that's short sighted of me, the proof will be in the pudding I suppose, once it's completed.

My biggest gripe is that only a fraction of the £9b will be for the tunnel and the rest developing a road network to and from the tunnel. My view is the money would have been better spent on another bridge at Dartford where the road network already exists.

Actually you just got me thinking by mentioning the bridge, so will the tunnel be toll free, if so that's going to create a problem rather than solve one surely?

Edit: just googled, no it will not be free, it will be a freeflowing charging system.

From what I read, a large portion of the £9b will come from private investors and therefore will never be free.
IMO, it will be a hugely expensive white elephant, where toll costs will continually go up to claw back the £9b. It’s going to wreck parts of Kent and Essex
