tbf I have commented on the grooming gangs stuff and the anit-semitism.

The stuff on here is a pile in on Labour, but the reality is more nuanced.

 

Yeah there's a section of voters who have set up their anti Labour camp now and they probably aren't getting their votes whatever they do.

Said to @brb the other day, I don't see Starmer doing a lot wrong right now, although the WFA, WASPI and Farmer's tax issue were massive PR gaffes, whatever the merits or lack thereof of the actual policies.

Imo, he's actually a fairly decent statesman and his experience in law is something that will root him and the party in the middle ground, in a world where it seems more and more leaders are just making it up as they go along, I think he's a fairly safe pair of hands.

 

Tbf they have a lot of stuff to pile on about.

 

I'm not saying they don't deserve criticism, and they need to be held to account. Tbf, the stuff I was commenting on the grooming gangs was the pile in on Starmer for 'covering it up' when he was DPP, when in fact it was CPS guidelines that hindered those prosecutions, something Starmer made sure were reformed in order to get convictions.

As for the Anti-Semitism stuff, I'm seeing him boot people out of the party for it. So that's the right thing to do. At least he's got his party's backing to do that now, unlike when they stitched Corbyn up when he was investigating it. People will say, 'oh there's still a problem with anti semitism in the labour party' but you get racists and bigots across the political spectrum and in other parties, whether it's anti semitism, islamophobia etc. I guess all you can do is root it out when it comes to light.

 

Digging out Starmer is like complaining about a new manager 2 weeks after being appointed when the last manager got sacked with you rooted to the bottom of the table. It also seems to be the ones who thought they were too cool for school that get riled the most. Take some personal responsibility for ****ing up your own life boys.

 

Heard this morning there has been immigration raids on nail bars, restaurants and car washes...not sure how many arrested yet.

 

Spent half my morning guarding the tanning salon and barber just in case. They can take a vape shop or two as there are a dozen others and three more pop up for every one that closes.

 

Starmer obviously has his critics - but it seems to me that there is way more 'action' happening under this administration - rather than more motions, amendments and prevarication..

 

I was going to joke about hairdressers, raided the day after a Liverpool defeat when takings would have been high.

Polls are bouncing around right now, with the last two showing a Labour lead again

But, of course the most remarkable is that the Tories are rooted in third place.

They won't stick with Badenoch at this rate surely

Tories aint gaining anything, although I noticed Cleverly loitering around the farmers outside Parliament this morning. Tbph I've not taken notice of a single poll, why would I, it's another 4 years before anything can change on the party front, so it's all to create a media circus and beyond that is pointless. Reform are never getting in, end of. Just business as usual as it should be for Keir, and apart from one of his dickheads giving the media a little something to get excited about, the news is quiet today, hence why the focus is on farmers having a day out in London, quite boring really. Oh and some female singer got booed at the Super Bowl...just remembered her name Taylor Swift...that's how bad the news is today. Hopefully Trump will nuke Iran to warm things up a bit.

 

I think Iran would get very warm if it was nuked....some would say too warm

 

You didn't tell me nowt, I was praising Starmer and you jumped on the bandwagon like the look at me type of comments you normally make. Can't you just **** off to the war thread and stay there, thanks.

When you see gang members in balaclavas on the streets fighting with machetes, there is no way you can be 100% sure that one of them isn't Keir Starmer or Angela Rayner.
