I've never been in favour of keeper captains, since it's always been my view that the captain needs to be an outfield player.

Also, the captain, in my view, has to be a shoe-in on the team-sheet, each and every week, which rules out quite a few of our current squad, including Lennon.

I'd give the band to Vertonghen, but make it clear to him that he's going to have to buck his ideas up and show commitment to both team and club.
 
Initially said Rose (:p), then went with Lennon as club, with Kaboul/ Lloris to captain on the pitch but I've voted for Chadli in the poll... Going well so far SOS :D
 
Team captain (in a starting XI) has to be back four or MF for me.
They are in the heart of the game, and can see what is going on.
And also IMHO are most able to rally the team by their own personal performance.

I would have had Verts nailed on as captain. Not sure now. He's no Ledley or Dawson attitudewise. **** it. Lloris. To be fair, he could be playing for anybody he wanted to and he signed a new contract. Without the the will he/won't he nonsense surrounding JV. And he is the first name on the teamsheet every week.

Im not a massive GK captain fan but he is the only real candidate isn't he?
 
Lloris would be the simple and obvious choice. Captain of France, captain of Spurs, captain of every organization with a cockerel badge and white and navy colors.

But I can't decide between him, Ade (key veteran), and Eriksen. Eriksen seems to have the best focus on the team.
 
Probably have to say Lloris due to lack of other absolute nailed-on starters. Most likely other starter might be Bentaleb! Maybe Capoue too - surprised no-one's mentioned him.

Course I'd likely go Sandro but unfortunately he looks to be a long way from a guaranteed starter for Pochettino.

It'll be interesting to see who Pochetinno gives it to if it's not Lloris - it'll seem like a statement whoever it is as it'll be a (even just symbolic) nailing of his colors to his mast, at least in the short term, of Capoue over Sandro, say or Ade over Soldado or Vertonghen over Kaboul.
