If I thought he'd play, Lennon. It should always go to the most senior player.

Voted Adebayor. Aye, aye captain.

Club captain : Lennon.

Team captain : IMHO always must be a senior/respected back four or MF player.
Kaboul when he plays.

Seriously speaking, I'd say Lennon for club captain but Lloris or Kaboul to lead us on the pitch.

Will Kaboul play if/when Fazio arrives?

I'd say Fazio will have to earn his place in the side before being established as a definite first choice. I don't know much about the guy but if Kaboul gets a run of games and can get back to his best, I'd start him all day long as I don't think there are many better when he's 100%.

I think Vertognhen should be captain. I voted for Chadli but that was your fault for putting him as an option :D

I also think Vertonghen FYI, despite voting for Dier!

Some will say Jan's heart's not in it anymore but giving him the captaincy could be what brings back the superb player we know he can be, and also encourage him to stay on.

Should be a defender if possible and the only guaranteed starter is Vertonghen. It might help get him psyched up for games as well.

How many of our players are both experienced and basically automatic starters? Lloris and... er, that's it, in my opinion.
I prefer central defenders or midfielders as captains, but I'd say that those places are up for grabs in our squad, so I'd go with the Frenchman.
Vertonghen is probably next in line, but his attitude has been crap at times.

So i see we're all taking this as seriously as half the other threads with Chadli and Adebayor in joint 2nd place currently

Is it really that important a job?

(too important for goalkeepers, btw)

I've always said that natural leaders will make themselves the captain anyway, regardless of whether they've been given an armband.

If you don't have a natural leader, giving someone an armband is unlikely to transform them into one...
