Back on topic, it's seems a harsh punishment from the omnipotent to forever curse mankind for one mans sin. Reading from this are we to understand that maybe Adam was made imperfect? And on the other hand if he was made perfect why make a devil to tempt him if he knew the possible outcome.
From my perspective as a bhudist it appears God was amusing himself, because if we are to believe that God sees and knows everything he surely knew from the start the outcome. I'm sure there are people who claim to know why this was but everybody will read it differently hence the so many variations within the different faiths. It is the human condition to question his existence and his place in the grand scheme of things.
