Not a great draw overall.

Suspect we'll play a different day to the skates given we'll be going in the same direction, hopefully they'll be on TV and the Sunday.

Hopefully get 2k tickets for this, normal allocation is only 1k but can't see we'll be a big enough draw for them where they'd come close to selling out.

The 2k will be behind goal too if we get that which is better than side of pitch.

First round of the cup on a weekend tjough. What utter nonsense.
Don't mind it personally. Means you basically get a semi-competitive to competitive game before the first league game, rather than a bunch of half-paced friendlies and then three competitive games in the first week. I think the other rounds will still be midweek anyway

Yeah it's just this round. I don't mind it too much either really though I'd have been annoyed if we drew the skates.

They were at the new place (which is awful, btw) - I remember going. The fog was so bad that you could not see the ball <laugh>

Ah yes I remember seeing that fog game on the highlights.

Yeah the ground looks terrible but it's a L2 club to tick off which the opportunity doesn't come round for often.

It's just a bit of a pain in the balls. It's built outside of the town of Colchester, literally right next to the A12 and the public transport is terrible. If you're not driving to the ground then you have to cram onto shuttle buses and they're a nightmare after the game too, you end up just standing around the car park and roads waiting for single decker shuttle buses to come. Oh and the ground is built on a boggy marshland, so their pitch can get really bad. And it has no corners and limited amenities, so in the cold, wet, windy months (which is when I went) it gets really sh!t

If you're happy to drive there, along with the fact it should be a sunny afternoon, it's probably a much better experience!

I'm from Colchester so I know a little bit about Col U. The ground is miles from the city and routinely considered the worst in the EFL.

I went to a game there a few years ago whilst working in the area. No atmosphere at all and locals I spoke to all hated it.

Like a budget West Ham to the Olympic Stadium.
