Yeah it was starting to get close. Much prefer this, we can face them next round with no bubble.I was starting to think we were going to draw the Skates!
It is. Drive past it to get to Ipswich.Pretty sure ground is just off A road so probably miles from centre.

Don't mind it personally. Means you basically get a semi-competitive to competitive game before the first league game, rather than a bunch of half-paced friendlies and then three competitive games in the first week. I think the other rounds will still be midweek anywayFirst round of the cup on a weekend tjough. What utter nonsense.

They were at the new place (which is awful, btw) - I remember going. The fog was so bad that you could not see the ballWere Colchester at their new ground when we played them in L1 or still at Layer Road?

It's just a bit of a pain in the balls. It's built outside of the town of Colchester, literally right next to the A12 and the public transport is terrible. If you're not driving to the ground then you have to cram onto shuttle buses and they're a nightmare after the game too, you end up just standing around the car park and roads waiting for single decker shuttle buses to come. Oh and the ground is built on a boggy marshland, so their pitch can get really bad. And it has no corners and limited amenities, so in the cold, wet, windy months (which is when I went) it gets really sh!tAh yes I remember seeing that fog game on the highlights.
Yeah the ground looks terrible but it's a L2 club to tick off which the opportunity doesn't come round for often.
