Nah, you may be a different colour - but that's no basis for instant hatred!

Agreed, that's how I live my life and I don't intend to be swayed by a racist and fascist organisation like the EDL. The attacks upon the mosque in Southsea were horrible and every single EDL member who turned up should have been pinched and locked up. End of.

I can't profess to knowing a great deal about The EDL, other than their opposition to the spread of Islam, Sharia law and Islamic extremism in England.
Opposition to the latter two is some-thing I agree with. Unfortunately it seems that protests [however peaceful their organisers may have intended them to be] appear to have been over-run by a rent-a-mob type who have, in the eyes of the media tarnished the name of the organisation beyond repair and, as such, future protests are bound to be met by counter protests from the Anti Nazi League and the like.
Whether the hooligan element (on both sides) actually represent the beliefs and wishes of the core membership is some-thing I honestly wouldn't like to guess.
As always the hooligans will grab the headlines while those protesting genuinely and peacefully will be ignored by the media as they don't create such a good headline.

The attacks on the Mosque in Southsea in November were organised by the EDL. This was not a peaceful protest and "members" travelled from all over the country to be there.

Why were they protesting? - because a group of Muslim extremists had burnt the Poppy in London on remembrance Sunday. Now I do not agree with this actions by the Muslim extremists - but none of these extremists were from Southsea, and the head of the Mosque even came out in the press saying that they did not condone it either as Muslim troops had been lost in battles while fighting for Britain.

So why did the EDL throw stones and chant some horrendous racist chants at the regular muslims who were just going to the mosque to pray.

Any group who cannot see the racism and fascism behind these actions is clearly deluded.

Dev you are so mislead by the media, the edl had 3 events where no UAF turned up, can you guess how many arrests there were?

That poppy thing was nothing to do with the Edl, i was on the Edl site that night and no one had a clue that was going on.

Did you watch coppers on channel 4? The Bolton demo 68 arrests, 55 UAF, 13 EDL, says it all really, but all the papers said was, 68 arreats at EDl demo

Maybe you should have a read then - All EDL - even taking the trip from London to Southsea to protest against Muslims who had no association with the Muslim Extremists.

I live 30 seconds from the mosque and this was certainly not a peaceful protest!

Stop spouting searchlight rubbish, there was no attack on any mosque, people were not bussed in to that, i know 2 people that were there, everyone was local.

Hatred? If you cannot identify that shouting "You're not welcome here any more", as the video shows quite clearly, to a mosque full of innocent muslims is not hatred then I think you need a reality check.

Well done! you started the thread - did you really expect everyone to agree with you?

Calling me a "******" really shows your true feelings doesn't it!

No i never expected everyone to agree with me, but i expected a better fight, than you are all racist, watch this mosque vid that shows nothing, you and you ilk need a dose of living with muslims/blacks for a while. Anyway. i'm out of here no point replying. Dev i enjoyed your quizzes, and all the others i enjoyed reading, be good, bye bye.

You expected more a fight? typical!

You posted something I didn't agree with - I then provided proof that the protest on Victoria Road North was not peaceful and was hideously racist - and also proved that the EDL were involved. Every argument you have come up with I have retorted too to prove that you are wrong.

I am very much concerned that you have stereotyped me "and my ilk" to not living with or knowing any Black or Muslim people - why bring the black community into this argument if its not race related? - Many of my friends are muslim and/or black - none of them would agree with what the muslim extremists did in London - so how does this justify your point?

I also have some friends who are devote Christians - they dont believe in sex before marriage etc, but I RESPECT their views because that is THEIR religion - why should we treat a muslim, buddist, jew or black person any differently?
