Does anyone here believe it should be allowed in a humane society ?

As i have always been bought up to believe (and agree with) - all the worlds problems are down to 3 things - GREED, MONEY & RELIGION.

I believe Islam should not be singled out. I have Islamic friends who I know disagree with the "ancient spin" on their religion.

Why should the whole of the religion be tarred with the same brush when its just a few idiots to spoil it all?

I also do not count myself to be a lefty, but I feel i am a liberal minded person, who does not believe in religion as a whole.
 
To relate it to football, Islam is like hooliganism. The troublemakers make up a tiny minority, but they make all the headlines and the vast majority of thoroughly decent people get tarred with the same brush.

You say a few idiots, but 37% of British muslims want shariah law in this country. 100% of muslims in this country said being gay was wrong, with a high percentage wanting the death penalty.

Can you ban a religion? How would that work? Didn't we do that to Catholics a few centuries ago and did it work? Personally, I wish nobody would bother me with their "invisible friends", but we live in a democracy, so I have to accept organised religion as a fact of life.

State sanctioned murder (aka the death penalty) has a lot of support from, I am told, a majority of the public. Quibbling about what would justify it seems a bit secondary. Blimey! Heavy stuff for a footy board!
 
We have decided to have an (almost) anything goes board, on here CF.
Anything you want to discuss is up for debate.
Religion is not my bag baby, so I'm staying out of this.
I will just say that any form of religion/government, that oppresses the proletariat is uncool however.

This is why i asked if "off topics" were allowed on here, if i had my way every religion would be banned, Watch Pat Condell, amusing and right.
 
What are your thoughts? I am a member, no i am not racist/fascist or any other name some people would throw at me.

Are there any UAF here? If there is, i need to ask you a question.
 
I feel that this topic could get out of Hand very quickly.

PFCsince70 - the fact that you have posted a topic in regards to the EDL (whom I have no desire to be associated with after witnessing a horrific attack upon the mosque in Portsmouth), shows that you will not change your opinions or "values", and that you will counter argue anyone else "opinion" with racial and facist propaganda that you have been fed.

As such, I will withdraw all opinion and participation in this thread and also your EDL thread as I do not agree with a word they say.

PompeyMeowth - im with you - can we start a topic about something a little less controversial!
 
I have made me thoughts perfectly clear on the thread regarding Islam of what I think of the EDL. Im sorry pfcsince70 - but I cannot condone any act by the EDL and any member who says they are not racist/fascist is deluded!

I am leaving this topic well alone now as this is another thread that is going to get out of hand very quickly.
