This tool is on a roll, so Chelsea are taking both Howe AMD Tonali then. I literally can't remember the last time Chelsea even bought a player from us

Demba Ba ??

I think his first game back at SJP was eye watering for him
Colo kicked him full on in the snot box
that would have been an easy decision for VAR <laugh>

Howes come out of nowhere and odds coming down rapidly.

Would Chelsea really want Santo more? I would imagine Howes of interest, but would he take it?

Ah yes Ba, thanks to good ol Harry Redknapp mouthing off about his release clause. Colo's career with us was up and down, but that moment was pretty legendary, full on boot in the hooter.

Remy was never our player though, just on loan to us....can't remember anything before Ba since Gavin Peacock.

i think the fact Rosenior isn’t even offered odds is the biggest tell, mate.

Howe isn’t going to be of interest to any big club, ever. He might go back and replace Iraola, might get the England job, but I maintain that the club he’ll go to will be West Ham.

What are these odds for? The next manager to be sacked?

Rosenoir isn't even on there!

As per the other thread and the spending, it could be said that the turmoil at board level and with two SD’s in two years hurt us. Howe was then possibly - just assumptions - allowed to take much more of a prominent lead than he should have. The recent reports on Ross Wilson’s role seems to suggest this is true, as recruitment is now heavily with him instead. I hope this means we maybe bring it back in on player transfers and make fewer mistakes this summer. Elanga is probably still saleable, Wissa would be an ideal transfer to Saudi, Bayern may still want Woltemade as a long term Kane replacement, Barnes and Murphy would appeal to newly promoted clubs, Gordon seems to still have top end appeal, Tonali still valued, etc. So I think with a better structure we can quickly recover from last summers mistakes.

In an ideal world Howe can work out how to do better. His main issues seem to be about lack of time on training ground, but could there be more flexibility to his approach to tactics, more trust in his team? Can he not just trust to more of his squad? Hard to believe Joelinton couldn’t have been rested for Ramsey, hard to believe Shahar is worse than Trippier, and so on. And he just needs to not be scared of trying something different, this whole die on my hill approach is pointless.

Vis a vie the "die on the hill" point everyone seems to forget for EH that it is exactly that. If he tries too many things which don't work and don't get results then it is him that is fired not some poster on some forum.
Given he sees the players every day (not literally) and has been doing this job at this level for years i think he has a pretty good idea as to what to do and what risks to take and what gamble to take and when in contrast to us on a forum. Don't forget if we took the advice of some on here in previous seasons we probably wouldn't have got into the CL twice and wouldn't have won the League Cup.

That's all well and good but Barnes didn't polish his shoes this morning and Howe didn't shave until after breakfast.

Who the **** calls the guy “inept”?! Even I wouldn’t be that much of a moaning ****. He’s a bit rigid but shat all over that vs PSG and I’m now of the opinion that Eddie Howe is the best Newcastle could have and if we sort the transfer structure out we will be challenging for the league, under Howe, within two years. I think the issues this season have been mostly PSR, secondly Saudi slowness and poor approach to our structure and thirdly asking Howe to have to be the transfer guy as well as everything else last summer.

Jim loves a nutshell, so - i was wrong. As usual.
