I can't be bothered wasting a season in the champo, we need to do everything to stay up.

It's certainly not ideal, but if it happens it's just a delay and I'll still feel very lucky and excited for the future.

A year really is a tiny fragment of time to me now.. Only yesterday I was say there thinking ****ing hell it's 2 years since wilder vs fury 2..

The championship have started legal response to teams being able to spend more than 5m a season.

From next season all clubs have to balance the books. The maximum net spend is 5m.

So we'll just spend hundreds of millions now
The premier league have voted as a result of covid that no new players can be registered without their prior approval and within past spending patterns.

NET spends averaged over the last 5 years is the maximum spend allowed.

And all money has to come from the balance sheet as at the start of the season. Therefore no new investment is allowed.

Are you on glue?

Mate newcastle have been bought by the public investment fund of Saudi Arabia not the Venky brothers. We're going to be a juggernaut it's really that simple.
They have stated and I quote “any money not generated internally without investment is not allowed for expenditure in the January transfer window”.

Your sources are wrong mate.

Nufc will spend a good wedge.. Probably the biggest amount ever for a bottom 3 club in January.

If we go down we'll come straight back up

Just watched that podcast all the way through (ignore the little blip at the beginning) and it really is excellent. Superb insight into the guy, his management methods and what drives him.

You come away thinking two things:

1) how lucky we are to have him as manager
2) how long would the same interview with Steve Bruce last

Going to watch a few more of those High Performance podcasts now.

I thought it was interesting that he mentioned going to a Rugby club to see the culture. I heard the exact same thing about Pep when he first retired, he went all over the world to different clubs to see management styles and a few different sports, including rugby.

I think Howe is correct that in the end, there's only so much you can do in training, but the hands on culture that we have is clearly evident, the idea that every single player needs a consistent stretch in the 11 even if we have new players coming in, it's all evident on the pitch.

We are blessed with a good bunch of lads at Newcastle though.

I also love that Howe takes the Bournemouth relegation as a personal failure, that is a good trait if you respond positively to failures, which he clearly has. Far too many Bruce's out there just shrug, say the players arent good enough and the Prem is too difficult and repeat it all again.

Whatever he does from here on, I'll always appreciate what he's done for us to date. Simply keeping us up last season was incredible in itself given the position we were in, the players he inherited and how poorly we were playing. To then continue that form into this season in a way that has really rattled the big boys is nothing short of amazing. Even if this right now is the height of what we ever see of NUFC, it's been magical. Eddie is a god.
