What will be peoples thoughts on Howe if we do go down? I know he's come into a bad situation, but it would still be pretty poor from him if we do drop. I'd keep him in the Championship as we probably can't get anyone better then sack him when we come back up. Hopefully he does keep us up though, then he can stay.
The Toon fans will make all kinds of excuses for him because the other option is admitting that they were wrong about Bruce being the problem.
I like what I've seen so far on the training ground, I like what i've seen so far in his media presentations and I would say there has been small improvements in the actual match day performances - certainly from fitness levels. However he is going to be doomed ultimately, because as soon as we get plastered by a half decent team, that 9 days earlier we all expected to get plastered by, some our fans piss their pants and loose their ****.
He keeps picking the wrong players. Early days but not been a great start, we didn't even get the new manager bounce. Pissing too many points away.
Has he actually done any better than Bruce has honest question. I see some players doing better and some doing terrible. I have not seen any new manager bounce. At all.
I would say, Lewis has shown some improvement, Joelinton some improvement. General fitness looks better throughout the squad. Every single one of them, with the exception of Joelinton, Lewis, Manq and perhaps Wilson, has now had more poor games than good games in my opinion this season.
Have to say I'm surprised we haven't seen players like White, Stephenson and Anderson not fully involved in first team duties
I agree. He seems to be doing the same as Bruce, square pegs in round holes. He played Clark…… again. And he again ****ed up. Jesus wept.
I think we need Howe to get to the better set of games coming up. He’s had a tough gig coming in to a side bereft of any confidence, confused tactically, and generally looking already down. In a strange sort of way I think it’s more likely he keeps his job if we go down. I think they’d see him as capable of getting us out. Whereas if we stay up, I could see a bigger name coming in for transfer reasons.
I want him to keep his job if we go down. I honestly think longer term he will get it right and he’s proved that in the past. We need the right mix of expertise behind the scenes aswell as signing players. This is the first time I’ve ever actually been excited with the long term project. I honestly think he will get it right.
Yeah the early signs are he wants to play watchable football. With a backing of owners who want to try. As a fan that’ll do for me.
Watchable football is no good if you concede 3 goals every game. He needs to improve for me, not been an impressive start. He isn't even getting selections right. If we go down, i think i'd get rid and get a new man in.
If you think about it we've not lost to anyone that's not very good and all those teams needed a leg up from the officials. The last few games and even tomorrow aren't anything to judge him by really. Bruce had easier fixtures and we played worse football... It's a process and it's underway.
We just don't have the time for him to settle in because of our position in the league. Needed the new manager bounce and didn't get it. Let's see what happens, he needs to start making better selections though. And i don't care about Bruce anymore, he's gone **** him.
I have a different view on that because if we just try and clog our way through we could've been learning to play the right way for 8 months whether we stay up or go down. It's backwards to go forwards but tbh I think we've improved. A don't need to beat Leicester Liverpool and City
