Good......get involved Jarlin, try not to be too pedantic in spelling errors as bloody predictive text is the bain of most of our posting lives!!!!!!!

Start posting on the match day threads as you'll find that 90% or so on here can't for one reason or another attend games but we make the best of it.......

Don't be a stranger.......

Thanks Woody but according to this forum it should be “your “
Ha! You're in already!
Slightly fair point about the 'clique' except it's not really a clique. It's just the folk that engage more.
The only solution to that is to be welcoming to newer members and for newer members to post. It's not like a social gathering where a host might make sure all looked after. It's dependent on all engaging so keep posting. All opinions valued though not necessarily agreed with!

The internet in a nutshell. We've all created make-believe people, who converse with other people's make-believe people, about stuff we hold strong opinions over but have zero actual knowledge or experience. You can share as much or as little as you like, you can lie your arse off or be totally truthful (and anything in between) and walking away from a conversation or argument is as simple as a mouse-click.

Anyone who can't switch off when things get tetchy probably needs to switch off for a while anyway. Either their choice or someone else's. I've moderated other boards before, and can say with certainty it's never a decision a moderator takes lightly or easily - however, you always know when you HAVE to do it. This is one of those cases - and let's be fair, they have been such rare occurences on here. I can only really remember a couple of other occasions where permanent bans have been imposed in the more than seven years we've been online. and in both those cases, the action taken by the mods is exactly what I would have done.

Two or three expulsions in over seven years shows what a great board this is.

Stopped posting since bastards at Lovoy (Norwegian Co.) have looked at my written modus operandi and taught me that what I normally write in 10 paragraphs can be condensed to a couple of lines.
Have pointed out that I use a flagrant vocabulary to make me look good.
They have taken all my joy out of the written word and now I'm always on the phone instead. My Mumbai and Manila staff love it!!

As for Steve McClaren - Strange one, some are now saying it is a results business and he should be judged on results.
Some of the very same that were chastening (can still get one in) Holloway for dour football, yet he did much beeter than most's expectations in terms of league position.

It's always been a results based business, at all levels. That will never change apart from parachute payments from tv rights when relegated. Thing is, Holloways results (especially away) were shocking. 4 wins in 40. Add that to a poor standard/style of football aswell. McLaren could have us playing lovely possession football and yet lose every game......obviously he would get sacked also. So of course results are what matter first and foremost.

But Holloway's overall result for 2017/18 was much better than vast majority expected - no?

I’m sure somebody who can be more “arsed” than me could bump the thread started before the 17/18 season that canvassed opinion as to expectation. I think you’re correct, Danish, in that the median was around where we landed up.
