It was as I expected, he lost more than he won, the upside was some of the youngsters playing and doing well.

You should sue the ****ers who have tried to change your use of language. ****ing ****ers.

    No.
Slightly better maybe but always likely to lose a few on the spin after changing winning line ups.
If Maclaren does the same he'll be equally criticised imo.

Stopped posting since taught that I can condense to a couple of lines.
All joy of the written word!
As for Steve McClaren - It is a results and he should be judged on results.
Holloway - dour football, yet he did better in terms of league position.

I see what you mean Danish. Keep practicing.

Not from my point of view they werent. Granted we beat a couple of table topping teams but if 4 away wins in 40 was better than expected then that alone shows the lack of ambition as a club. Mix that with a tactic of bypassing the midfield to play to Smith then the writing was always on the wall for Holloway. His away form and tactics were imo enough to get him sacked.

Maybe some had those expectations because it was Holloway in charge??????

3 wins out of 23 last season - 3rd bottom.
    12 out of 23 at home - 9th.
What were your expectations for us last season? - Seems as though you had something higher than even the deluded "owner" ?
Does it matter that we finished higher than clubs in a far more financial stable position than we find ourselves in?
We lost 20 matches out of 46 - not brilliant, probably a B- result under the circumstances, getting youth through, putting value on to players worth.
    It was all terrible.

    And I'm being harsh Bob,
Holloway is a limited football man - always has been.
If those in power were not aware of that, than that says more about them.
I get the feeling that he was not given a clue about this sacking, and that, is something that leaves a very sour taste.
Our Senior Management have not dissapointed one iota, have no faith in anything they do.

Come on Scchteeve, prove me wrong.

    Come on you RRRRs

I was very concerned about last season due to a restriction on investment and as time went on, Holloways limited ability. Did we do better than expected? I firmly believe a better manager would have done better than that league position with the same resources. It's over for now and I'm so glad it is. I still believe we will need to spend money and invest wisely to compete.

Don't disagree mate. The buck stops with Fernandes. He has got us in to this mess of a merry go round.

In season 16/17 we won 4 away and only 8 at home, losing 23/46 and finishing 18th with 53 points.
In season 17/18 we won 3 away and 12 at home, losing 20/46 and finishing 16th with 56 points.

JFH didn't do well with us. Chris Ramsay didn't do well with us. One lucky play off game aside, Harry didn't do well with us. Taking out the championship win, Colin didn't really do well for us. No need to mention Hughes, Mick Harford, Paul Hart or in fact most of the others.

Looking at McLaren's management career, he has a win percentage of 44.9% - his only real failures have been with Wolfsburg, Forest and Newcastle. everywhere else is 38% and above (at Twente he had a 62.9% win percentage).

He knows how to get teams winning. I think we give him a chance to prove the nay-sayers right or wrong.

It's good to see that, after the McLaren thread descended into being all about Durbar, this one - which was originally about Durbar - is now all about McLaren/Holloway. Like flowers through concrete.

Not sure you can take Warnock's Championship winning season out of his equation. That was one of the most memorable QPR season ever for me. Winning the league surely means he did do well for us (really well)?

    Agree with the rest.

Could we all try to spell our new manager’s surname correctly?

I believe it is McClaren rather than McLaren or MacLaren etc.

    I thank you!

    Phew. :)

Oh great. There was I thinking we had picked up a Formula 1 manager, and you're now telling me he's as close to half a Googlewhack that we could have found?

Can we move this away from positive qpr talk and back to anger, name calling etc. So much more fun.
