I seem to remember Downing getting a lot of crosses into the box last season, and we all know how good Carroll can be with his head. It deffinately gives us a dimension to our play that has been absent since, well, probably McManaman left!
A nice ballanced formation could be the below with the addition of Downing:
Lucas
Gerrard Adam
Suarez Downing
Carroll
With players such as Miereles, Poulsen (yuk!), Spearing, Shelvey, Henderson, Cole, Maxi, Kuyt and N'Gog (probably others) all fighting to get into the team...

Mackem in peace, Just like to say that £20 million might be a bit steep but who cares its not your money and the club seems to be in good hands with FSG. Also what would you rather have, a foreign, ball greedy, diving, uncommited twat who rarely gives 100% and scores the odd wonder goal or a hard working, never say die, gives you 100% every game, premier league experienced and assist machine that is Downing, not to mention his free kick ability and can score goals too? Honestly he will give Carroll so much service that Carroll will probably hit 20 goals next season and Downing 20 assisits.

Kuyt proved he can do a job there, but maybe isnt the best option (he did link up very well with Suarez) then you have Maxi, Gerrard had some of his best seasons on the right (now we have many options in Centre Mid maybe this will be his place?) Henderson can play there, and now we possibly have got Downing who could play that side.

I work with a ton of scousers in Warrington, have done for years and never in my life have I heard any of them call us sheepshaggers. You call people from Warrington, St Helens, Widnes and surrounding areas wools but you don't call Mancs wools. Sorry mate your talking ****.

Like I said, I really couldn't care a **** what this bloke says.
If he/they can't see that they start things it's just pointless. I have made ONE threat, ever, and that was deservingly (and I admit, embarrassingly) to BBF who had chipped and provoked away all day. Other than that's it's the usual **** offs and such like in response to likewise.
