I personally defended him after the derby mate, the team selection last night unquestionably screamed desperation, and a lack of any sort of direction, IMO.

I agree tthe team last night was baffling but feel Bruce wanted a solid 5 man midfield and felt neither Gyan, Whickham or Ji had got there fingers out of there arses yet this season enough to play them so felt Sess was a better option. This could be a massive kick up the arse to Gyan and one that he definately needs.

Let's say that's the case, why say prior to kick of that Gyan 'needs game time to get his sharpness up'.

I'm not out to vilify Bruce mate, i have backed him through till last night, if you look, it was pre-game when i saw the team that he lost my support, it's not knee jerk to a bad result, it's the acumilative effect of a thousand mind boggling and tactically inept team selections, both starting line up, and in play.

All very reasonable BB, but he should have been dismissed at the end of the season, if at all. Now, given the complete overhaul that he has overseen, he has to be given at least until January, surely? What was the point in the board backing all the changes otherwise?

I agree that there have been several decisions and team selections from Bruce which have been truely baffling. I would have left Gyan out last night as he was garbage in the derby but still i would have started Whickham or Ji. My concern is we are putting a lot of faith in Gyan this season and apart from a few moments of magic I dont think he has done much for us since we signed him. My initial point was its only 2 games in and people are wanting him gone which is basically madness. There is still a week of the window left also so we could still bring someone else in.

Mate i'm trying to look at it from all angles, but i can only see a man who signs good players, i can't see a football manager.

We haven't even tapped on the in game substituitions he makes, the 'every man back for a corner' tactic, sadly, i could go on.

I think you lads all know i'm not the irrational, witch hunt, type, but there comes a point when i can't outweight the negatives with positives anymore, unfortunately, as i like Bruce, i just can't do that right now.

You don't have to go on because I agree. I don't rate him, and have stated this many times. I just feel that the timing would be wrong, now. Should have gone in the Summer. He didn't, so he should be given at least until January.

Surely if we give him time, it can only be till November, given that we'd need to appoint a new manager, and hope he signed some left footed ****ing players in January!

It possibly (probably) is, but if we don't win on Sat, with Chelsea to come, we are already looking at a sizeable gap to the top half.

I hoped that after a sleep (i sat on here till 4am still in a tailspin), i'd have eased off, but although i've calmed the anger, i just can't find a positive.

Maybe a few San Miguels later will help..

Probably will help you - so too the thought that at this point in the season a couple of wins puts you right back in there. Not saying we'd get them, mind.

Let's start believing we will win Saturday, 108 points to play for and one less cup to distract us.

    Micky mouse cup anyway.

I agree. It needs a team of very technical, very creative and very intelligent players.

I'm not having a dig at the likes of Vaughan and Cattermole, as they're good footballers, but creative, technical and highly intelligent football simply isn't their style.

They're clever, don't get me wrong, but successful total football is like a game of chess. The whole team always has to be two steps ahead. They also have to work in harmony so the right player 'becomes' the striker temporarily to get the ball into the net. With Bruce's formation and team selection, everyone was still stuck to their positions, so when the ball came in no one was there.

I was surprised we did so well at Anfield, after wasting all the money for henderson and bent on dross. We've replaced quality with quantity. Hopefully it won't end in relegation.

I'm by no means a paid up member of the Bruce out brigade, but i've now reached a point where I would not protest if he went either.

I'd also be surprised if Short sanctions anymore transfers this window as I'm sure he is becoming increasingly concerned. It's now very much Bruce's team and the buck must stop with him!!

I am still in the Bruce In camp but only just, the team selection for last night have had more of a negative effect on my opinion than the Newcastle defeat where I believe we were truly unlucky. Last night really wound me up as it was such a good opportunity to play Wickham and Ji and give it a real go. Feel really sorry for 1200 who made the trip.

Swansea is a massive game now, if we don't have a go and end up getting battered by a few clear goals I will be very worried for us.

He will play 3-7-0 formation, when O shea is fit he will probably go up front and put Gyan in goal.
