FOR THE PAST WEEK / 10 days or so I have been getting a message saying

IE closed here is a problem with this webpage, is closing and looking for problem, then refreshes with a line saying it closed and reopened the page!
on one occassion it closed it [ said it did so to protect my computer] and I had to reopen it myself

Ahh, so you're saying this is only a problem with the not606 site then.

Can't say I've had that issue but then I don't use IE these days and haven't for a long time. It could still be a browser problem though with that particular web address being misconfigured on times by IE whilst allowing normal access to the other sites you call up.

If it continues, try another browser like the latest Firefox and see if it still occurs - my bet is that it wont. <ok>

I'm not a techie JGF2, but as no one else has responded with the same problem, I've come to a technical conclusion - it must be you......<laugh><ok>

I'm on Safari and get no problems at all apart from the odd Taff turning up talking bollocks.

Can't stand Safari myself - how do you manage with all those flies?

Looks like some of that elephant **** has got into your laptop, or does talking a load of crap come natural to you?

BTW, thought I'd let you know my new X5 X-Drive 40d M Sport is just a dream to drive for me, and I suppose just a dream for you eh? <ok>

Switch to new Firefox Quantum - far better browser than IE and even quicker than Chrome.

I work in web dev full-time, I've always been more of an Opera/Chrome kinda guy, but switched the other day to Firefox Quantum. Has a few teething troubles I've noticed but a cracking browser :emoticon-0148-yes:

Gotta say we work on both manufacturers, from new service and maintaining them, the more reliable and better vehicle by a country mile is Mercedes<sorry> bmw owners:emoticon-0148-yes:

Gotta say we work on both manufacturers, sorry to say guys the Mercs are far better all round.

When you say "you work on both manufacturers", what do you actually do RR?

My wife and I run both marques - she has had Mercs for the past 10 years after switching from BMW's, but I've stuck with Bemmers.

I certainly wouldn't change my choice but there you go, it can be a very personal thing. <ok>

I own a garage 28 years and counting <ok>

Beemer all the way for me too. Both have superb interiors, but I'm not a fan of the 'tablet' screen in the Merc's and their ride stiffness is questionable from reviews. Both absolute quality either way though regardless.

You're spot on about the ride stiffness Rob, The first Merc my wife had was a CLK320 with AMG sport suspension. Lovely looking car but the bloody thing used to bounce down the road. I couldn't stand it and she agreed after a while and ditched it.

She went back to a Beemer and wanted a 6 series. Got one, lovely car with a ride like silk, but just too big to be practical for her needs. Ditched that and went for a C Class CD250i Sport. Better ride than the CLK but still very stiff suspension to the point that it can become a nuisance on poor roads. Great torquey engine but lacks the refinement of the Beemer deisel - in fact it sounds like a bag of nails when running alongside mine.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very lucky to have the choice but I know which marque suits me - and secretly I think the wife agrees with me.
