I used to but my interest has tailed off massively. Really struggled to get into it this year. No particularly good older horses (possibly camelot aside) and the three year olds (dawn approach aside) arent a particularly exciting bunch either! Too much poor racing with the all weather being around all season and far too many 5 furlong sprint handicaps that are just impossible to call and it just depends which horses turn it is to win
Flat racing is 98% ****ing toss. Only the group races worth watching IMHO (or should I say those with more than 3 runners). However they can promote these so-called heritage handicaps where you have 28 runners over 7F all rated within 4lbs of each other is a ****ing mystery to me. Complete bookies benefit.
I've not really been into racing for that long maybe 5 years or so but I've always preferred the flat racing I feel like there's more excitement when it's a 5, 6 or 7 furlong sprint and a dash to the finish rather than a 2 or 3 mile marathon that takes ages to get to the finish.
I do find it interesting to read people's posts on here regarding this though because of the many people I know who are into their racing I've never known anyone to prefer it over the jumps but it seems on here that the majority if not everyone seem to prefer jumps racing

Im convinced the plan last year was to win the st leger and then retire him unbeaten without ever facing a worthy challenger. After he lost the leger they thought they would try and win the arc and then retire but he didnt do that either so they had to keep him in training. I agree though, he will mop up the usual ballydoyle benefit races in Ireland then retire at the end of the season.
And don't get me started on those ****ing Tattersalls millions races or whatever they're called

Is the middleton stakes tomorrow the worst Group 2 field you have ever seen? The Dante ain't much better either....
No need for the sorry Bob, you lot on here know a hell of a lot more about racing than I'll probably ever learn when I first started gambling I would only bet on the flat racing and is the only racing I would watch (grand national aside) it's only in the last 2 years I've started betting on the jumps racing and Cheltenham Festival is my favourite time of year now for racing but with that exception its still the flat season that I most look forward to

****ing hell Brough what's wrong with the Middleton or the Dante. The Middleton is a fillies & mares only race so it's bound to look a bit weak but some nice horses there. Dante form will prove to be class, no idea what Coolmore's nag is like but the 1-2 from the sales race will go on to big things imho.

Maybe im being slightly harsh in that compared to the general standard of horses around at the moment that they maybe are some of the better ones in the middleton but considering the Dante is supposed to be one of the best derby trials run in england i think the field is disappointing to say the least. Indian Chief could be anything admittedly but if any of the others finish within 10 lengths of the derby winner then i will eat my shoe!
