won £330 on my accumulator this weekend, with southampton in it, i never used to bet on them but ive won quite a bit recently, i know you're not meant to bet on your team but does anyone else?

I did at Forest, but that was only because it was a banker! Also, the odds were quite good for Saints as we were out of form at the time.

not a betting man myself.

but when we beat brighton at home, my brother had £15 on the score, and £15 on both first and last goal scorers, he did well that day, and the visit to the pub afterwards was on him!

I bet against them in big games - eg derby matches - just for some compensation if all goes wrong.

I usually put Saints and Torquay in my acca each week and most times they don't let me down, but I never put Pompey in it anymore, as they have lost me a couple of wins in the past.

Yeah mate. All the time. I bet on Saints to win at home and draw away.

How many teams did you have in your accumulator to win 330 or did you just place a bigger bet?

I normally do £10 trebles.

3 quid on 12 teams, put i make 2 accumulators every saturday, also had a quid on hosvield to score after his goal at westham , that got me £15

Good plan. I can't win trebles let alone a 12 fold so I might as well do smaller bets and have a wider interest.

I tend to win a lot of money placing bets on 2-1 scorelines. I normally stick £10 each on all premiership games individually being 2-1 (obviously backing favourite) with odds ranging from 7-1 to 12-1. You only need a couple of 2-1s to turn a profit and it happens so often!

Little tip for those of you who like a flutter, Yankees are the best bet to win regularly in football. The only downside to them is the returns aren't massively great unless your stake is high.

For those that don't know a Yankee is 4 selections and is all the doubles/trebles and one four fold accumalator, which totals 11 bets, so whatever your stake is you multiply by 11. The good thing about it is if you get 2 of the 4 results right at least you get something back as you win on one fo the bets, won't be your full stake (depending on odds) but a little bit back. In the week I had a yankee of Boro, Brum, Napoli and West Ham, £5 stake a nice return of £715.

£5 stake, does that mean £55 if it's x11?

Same.

I started doing this a while back in cricket, and in the past 12 months I've started doing it in football as well. Won about £30 thanks to our defeat to Leicester last month.

Hampshire winning the t20 in 2010 almost broke me (the ten heart-attacks I had in the final didn't help either!).

I always bet on Saints - usually small stakes on the result plus a couple of quid on first scorer. I don't do too badly usually, and am probably up this season (just). Halftime and full time result bets are my favourite though, as the odds are generally long enough to make a decent return from a fiver.
