That is 'her' socket. I gave up on one, i'll just run an extension under the bed to mine, which is what I'd suggested all along. If you look at the bottom right corner there's a cable that runs round the other side of the chimney breast. That's to the extra socket I did manage! Skirting needs to go on. Just about to strip the ****ing ceiling wallpaper. Hate this menial ****.
Ceiling stripped. Didn't kill myself so onwards and upwards. Cba to paper today so will instead have one of these @luvgonzo . A decent drop.
Because there are some cracks in the ceiling boards that will manifest themselves if I just have it skimmed. *funny as **** you lot think I don't know what I'm doing*
Depends which way you look at it I suppose. My house is 1940's, it's had a loft conversion that probably wouldn't meet building regs now, but no idea when it was down so is fine. We bought it 11 year ago. Just now getting round doing our bedroom. Changing the alignment completely. There's a few cracks in the ceiling because of the room above. C'est le vie. I'll sort it.

At least you didn't have to paper over the stuff![/QUOTE] Quote **** up! Cba to even try, see you tomorrow.
You sure you don't need an RSJ in there bro ? Don't want your air B&B guests falling through the ceiling and joining you and yer missus in bed like.
It'll be timber joists. It's my eldest room, a typical teenager's pit. It's all good, am about to have a full hit breakfast and then will be papering and coving the **** out of things. Pics to follow!
I knocked a wall out once which I thought was a stud wall, it had some big **** off pieces of timber top and bottom, which I thought was a bit overkill. When I went upstairs, the ceiling was bowing and the skirting board had a 2" gap underneath it. It was then I realised I'd just knocked out a supporting wall !
