I used it because you can rewire more easily, although most would use capping.

The current rules state that you have to either offer mechanical protection or bury the cables 50mm below the surface. Most sparks go for the easy option which is plastic capping allowing you, I think, a depth of 5mm below the surface and protected by a RCBO (Earth leakage and short circuit protection) In the consumer unit.

It wasn't being pissy mate I was genuinely interested in what edition he passed in. Mine was the 16th but that was donkeys years ago.

I managed to get four in but I'm just not happy with it. Its bollocks, my Mrs just looks at me with a simpleton expresion twirling her hair when I try to explain I'm not a ****ing electriacian and I can't do this ****.

I should offering advice to both you and Chief. Based on what you’ve both said and shown, the only advice I can offer is purchase as many smoke detectors you can afford!!!!

I'm actually well happy with mine now although it took me a while to get there. Anyway I'm moving out tomorrow so not my problem, just saved me a few quid. [HASHTAG]#winner[/HASHTAG]
