It's got little to do with bungs or TV - and has also got **** all in common with Australian rugby either.....
Let's get some sense into this. It's nothing to do with the ref, is an act of God so it's a goal or should I say hand of God
The keeper aimed at his teeth but he was too short and he missed. C'mon fella - you took the trouble to post on here - what do you think the ref's decision should be?
Depends who Brian Gale was playing for when the ball hit him in his face and went over the goalie So, own goal or straight fluke goal from the opponents
It would just be a corner kick, as even if the keeper deliberately kicked the ball into his own net from a goal kick, the goal would not be allowed, as the laws do not allow an own goal to be scored from a goal kick, thus the ref only has the option to award a corner to the opposing team. Sure this happened a couple of years ago , where a keeper was put in this same situation, and attempted to stop the ball entering the goal, which resulted in an in direct free kick for opposing team, and whoever was commentating said he would have been better not touching it, as it could not be awarded as a goal
Well done Lee - first one to get the decision right without mentioning whether or not the ball left the penalty area. It's correct that the ball doesn't come into play from a dead ball goal kick until it leaves the penalty area, but when the ball crosses the goal line whether inside our outside the goalmouth, it is then deemed to have left the penalty area. The ref has only one option and should award a corner if no other player has touched the ball because as Aski has said, the laws state you cannot score an own goal direct from a goal kick. A corner kick to the opposition is the correct decision. Thank **** for that - I'm outa here......
Aye Lee, but that was correctly awarded as an own goal because the ball was in play and it wasn't a dead ball goal kick. Nice vid though.
