1) Thompson was 50/50 he showed his studs, however the leading leg never touched the player, his trailing leg tripped him which made it look much worse specially when Reading crowded the keeper each time a tackle came in. I can't really complain about the red, I have seen them given and I have seen them yellow.
2) Pugh deserved a red no doubt about it, he didn't even get booked which shows a poor ref and questions if it was worse why did Thompson get a red.
3) One of their players put his knee into our keepers chest, that was worth a yellow, the foul was given so why not a card when it was a knee used you can't lead with an elbow so why is a knee acceptable - again a poor ref?
4) Brown timed every tackle to perfection, I agree he was just cm's away from mistiming one and if he had he would have gone but he never, he got the ball fairly. Their player broke a leg, if you watch then you will see his theatrical dive when the tackle was made never helped as he twisted the leg he left behind.
5) I hate to point out an obvious fact ACKJ but are tackles not part and parcel of the game?
Roll the clock back 15-20 years and they would have been called good hard challenges, because diving, falling over when touched and blatant attempts to cheat have become part of today's modern game it all looks worse than it actually is. EVERY player sadly now plays for the free kick the moment a hand touches them or a player goes to ground in a tackle.
